Oh is that what that other mud icon meant? I didn't even notice until I was nearly done with the game and I barely ever used it. Well either way I still think it's a dumb mechanic that they just spawn out of nowhere.
It really kills the player's desire to actually act like a monkey, and be vigilant for threats by stopping and listening and smelling, when you know that a tiger is going to spawn anyways and beeline straight for you. Maybe if it would spawn further away and the game gave a subtle hint that danger was close it would make the player go up a tree, use their senses to find the tiger and then memorize it to avoid it. As it is it's way easier to just always carry a stick and shove it up the tiger's Jurassic when it inevitably attacks you. (yeah wrong era, but it's for the joke) Then later once you've increased your attack neurons you can carry a basalt sharpener and brain it after you've used the stick.
At least crocs will eat it when it spawns on top of them.
They dont suddenly "spawn" at all. they have their lair and they roam, while you are on the ground they can track you.
After a while you can learn where and when it will spawn, and how long it takes to despawn. And you just rinse and repeat. Trying to immerse myself into this game is impossible now, That the "same" damn tiger comes again and again and again to be killed. And the second the tiger dies, the next one can spawn. A harder tiger once per generation is by far enough. It gets very cringe when the most abundant animal on the planet is a freaking pressureplate-tiger that just sweeps the floor like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ roomba.
I'm pretty sure they spawn. One spawned right in front of my eyes after I killed a cobra and they've spawned near me on crocodile island and got eaten by a croc.
If "probability of devs making a change" was a requirement for posts then 99% of all the discussion boards on Steam would be dead silent. Let people vent, it's not like there's much else going on in this discussion board besides people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about bad KB+M controls.
