Make decent KEYBOARD-MOUSE settings pls!
Message to the devs : Make decent KEYBOARD-MOUSE settings (that are also changeable for all types (querty & azerty) and you will DOUBLE or TRIPLE your sales + even better ratings also!
Most complains are about very bad keyboard playability, it's weird that you make such an amazing game and do not make it decent playable for keyboard and mouse playrs all over the world, whyle this is still the most usable playstyle for so many gamers anno 2020 !!!
Do something about it please and you will be rewarded after that. THANKS !

100% agree on this... i did buy the game and could not even start to play..
After loading got a message that says 'recommended' to play with controller..
Then a screen that says : Press "A" to continue... I did press all buttons of my keyboard and no reaction at all... only 1 conclusion i could make, that this 'A' button is on a controller...
This let me no other option then do a REFUND on the game :(
The day there is a decent play possible with "Changeable keyboard and mouse settngs" i will buy the game again !!!

You can press Enter when it says Press A then go right away to settings and change it from gamepad to KB+M. I agree though the keyboard settings are terrible. Half the time I can't tell if it's a rt click or left or hold it.

Strange. Played with keyboard and didn't have problems. Initially yes, you need to press Enter when it asks to press A and switch controls to keyboard+mouse. After that as long as you keep the HUD on there is no problem.

All buttons are correctly displayed as keyboard/mouse button, the icons are distinctive when you need to press/hold/release to do an action. Camera rotation is too fast initially but it is also configurable in settings. You do need to remember how to get to certain actions (free both hands to pick up large things, lie down to access evolution menu, identify points before you can memorize them, switch item to another hand before you can alter it, etc), but current buttons that you can use are displayed on the hud. Sometimes some actions disappear, like Stand Up when you can take an item and only Grab option remains, but that seems the only problem with keyboard/mouse control that I noticed.

Another thing that may be annoying: each time I start a game it asks me to press A again even though I already configured it to Keyboard/Mouse. It also uses default language for first two messages even after I changed it to another one. Basically it does not use the settings until I get past that screen again. After that screen it switches to the correct language and keyboard/mouse control that I activated, so it is a really small problem which is solved with a single button pressed, but still.

Also I am sure that I had to press Enter to pass the first screen for the first time, but now it seems I need to press Space to get through it, so if you ever try this game again, try both buttons.

I don't really get why some of you people are so obsessed with the keyboard and mouse. It's even funnier when the so called hardcore gamers don't even recognize that some games just play better on different controllers. FPS and strategy for example work the best with the keyboard and mouse but games like this work better with console controllers and driving games are best with a wheel. With some games I even use a keyboard+mouse+console controller combination if it's possible and useful.

Just get a controller for pc and you'll be able to enjoy so many games much more than with restricting yourselves to kb/m.

The option to invert mouse axis is greyed out and not functional. This totally sucks for those of us used to forward as down and back as up as in flight games and casting in fishing games.

Lack of control configuration options will kill this game for PC players. It should have just stayed on the stupid consoles.

Because i played only with keyboard and mouse since my childhood, and i can't grasp the controls with a controller. At the age of 40, i feel a bit old to get used to something new, while 99% of the games are playable and enjoyable with mouse and keys without any problems. And in the meantime, i can't and won't afford a new type of controller for every type of games i have.

And the lack of invert mouse option is a game-stopper for me also. I simply don't understad, why is it left out, while the option is RIGHT THERE.

100 % AGREE ON THIS !!!
(it's the developer that needs to give that service to every player, NOT the players that support them for years and years before and yet to come).
This is honestly what's keeping me back from buying the game. It's been out for a whole year and hasn't been addressed? Epic games REALLY needs some way to give feedback to the developers.

Oh no, I've only been using a hammer my whole life, it's impossible for me to learn to use a saw. Come on man, that's a really lame excuse. You're not old and even an 80-year-old can learn to use something as simple as a console controller. And I wasn't talking about them being playable but MORE enjoyable, which is something you know nothing about if you've never played any game with anything else than a kb/m. Also, you don't need a different controller for every game. You just need the one.

I think you missing a point. Propably i could learn, but should i? You can learn from being a left-handed person to be a right handed, but do you feel it necessary? MAYBE the controller in most cases is more enjoyable, but in this game the m/k is almost unplayable. To be in comparison: you can drive a special car with one hand and no legs, but to drive like that as a regular everyday driver is a pain in the back for no reason. Or, stick to your example: I got used to a hammer every day, but i find it hard to put a picture on the wall with a saw.

No, I'm not missing the point. The point is, you're just too stubborn to do something differently even when it would be beneficial. And that hammer and saw example of yours is just ridiculous. It's more like you've been using just a hammer and refuse to use a saw to cut wood and are trying to cut it with a hammer instead because you're used to using it. It's kind of ironic that you want to play a game about adapting to new things but you don't want to adapt to new things yourself.
