After loading got a message that says 'recommended' to play with controller..
Then a screen that says : Press "A" to continue... I did press all buttons of my keyboard and no reaction at all... only 1 conclusion i could make, that this 'A' button is on a controller...
This let me no other option then do a REFUND on the game :(
The day there is a decent play possible with "Changeable keyboard and mouse settngs" i will buy the game again !!!
but anyway THANKS for the tip and will keep that in mind when i re-buy it later on when keyboard & mouse settings are maked better .
All buttons are correctly displayed as keyboard/mouse button, the icons are distinctive when you need to press/hold/release to do an action. Camera rotation is too fast initially but it is also configurable in settings. You do need to remember how to get to certain actions (free both hands to pick up large things, lie down to access evolution menu, identify points before you can memorize them, switch item to another hand before you can alter it, etc), but current buttons that you can use are displayed on the hud. Sometimes some actions disappear, like Stand Up when you can take an item and only Grab option remains, but that seems the only problem with keyboard/mouse control that I noticed.
Also I am sure that I had to press Enter to pass the first screen for the first time, but now it seems I need to press Space to get through it, so if you ever try this game again, try both buttons.
Just get a controller for pc and you'll be able to enjoy so many games much more than with restricting yourselves to kb/m.
Lack of control configuration options will kill this game for PC players. It should have just stayed on the stupid consoles.
Because i played only with keyboard and mouse since my childhood, and i can't grasp the controls with a controller. At the age of 40, i feel a bit old to get used to something new, while 99% of the games are playable and enjoyable with mouse and keys without any problems. And in the meantime, i can't and won't afford a new type of controller for every type of games i have.
And the lack of invert mouse option is a game-stopper for me also. I simply don't understad, why is it left out, while the option is RIGHT THERE.
(it's the developer that needs to give that service to every player, NOT the players that support them for years and years before and yet to come).
Oh no, I've only been using a hammer my whole life, it's impossible for me to learn to use a saw. Come on man, that's a really lame excuse. You're not old and even an 80-year-old can learn to use something as simple as a console controller. And I wasn't talking about them being playable but MORE enjoyable, which is something you know nothing about if you've never played any game with anything else than a kb/m. Also, you don't need a different controller for every game. You just need the one.
I think you missing a point. Propably i could learn, but should i? You can learn from being a left-handed person to be a right handed, but do you feel it necessary? MAYBE the controller in most cases is more enjoyable, but in this game the m/k is almost unplayable. To be in comparison: you can drive a special car with one hand and no legs, but to drive like that as a regular everyday driver is a pain in the back for no reason. Or, stick to your example: I got used to a hammer every day, but i find it hard to put a picture on the wall with a saw.
