I dont understand this game. do we evolve physically and mentally or just survive?

I think this game focuses on the "before human lineage" at least their time setting would suggest it, they say the game takes place 10 million years ago, that's before gorillas evolve and before the human and chimp lineage diverge form each other.
Unless the game takes place from 10 MYA to at at least 6 MYA, we won't see Orrorin tugenensis (O.T.), which is the oldest human ancestor to have walked on two legs.
Two legs.. which brings me to an interview with one of the devs, he was talking about choosing to adapt to using two legs, that is erroneous if we don't get to play to evolve into O.T.

I don't know if they've consulted with an expert E.g. an expert in the field of biological anthropology, but I hope they have, to make the game as close to reality as possible, otherwise I will be very indignant..
