How do I create a new settlement?

I have my entire clan (3 females (1 pregnant), 2 elders, 3 males, & 3 babies all moved to the cave oasis, but when I create a new settlement by placing a bed (made 2) & my ape does her dance, the others dont respond & I can't get my vigilant to go away. I killed the tiger that came after me, but I'm putting up a branch barrier wall now.

Anything else I can do? Or is it bugged?

Go to the spot you want to settle, construct a sleeping spot, go to the sleeping spot, hold b (if using xbox controller) otherwise follow the instructions on the left, when standing on the sleeping spot.

I tried, but it keeps asking me to settle it again & my clan (all of them following) does nothing :(

Try building a new bed. You can also just try a different landmark

Also, once you settle, don't forget to end the expedition to let everyone get back to doing their own thing.

So i tried building multiple beds & ended the expedition, but they just stood there doing nothing. & in the circle in the corner they were all outside it

Well, theyre not supposed to do anything. You bring all of your monkeys there, settle and end the expedition. If they dont do anything, thats good.

Well, theyre not supposed to do anything. You bring all of your monkeys there, settle and end the expedition. If they dont do anything, thats good.

They do sit down in groups. If you want them to drink or eat, you have to eat/drink from a source (doesnt work if its in piles) and theyll do it with you. Their needs dont really matter that much, if you dont control them though

Do you have, by any chances, a child on your back/and/or/belly?
I always drop the child(ren) if i want to place my sattlement there, maybe that might help?

Or try restarting your game?

I had the same bug. I made a neuro thingy where you activate the new skills so the game would save. Then I closed the game restarted it and all apes are now in the circle and everything works like it should.
