Hominid that looks scared?

How do I get the hominid that looks scared to join my clan? I haven't been able to figure it out thus far.

Get close to them and try to hold B to calm them down. sometimes you need to first scare away or hunt down a animal that is nearby that scares them

Mostly they need some eat or just calm them down or that thing from trees on bleeding

I'm having this same issue. They won't accept any food, there's no preds around, & if I try to calm them like the baby in the beginning, they don't respond (that I can see anyway)

This one is bugged at launch, you have to restart the game until you see it on the tree that you can construct the dead branch barricade to let it stand on so you can comfort it.

Try giving it a cure for snake venom, the symptoms look similar to hysteria. Honey worked.

Bug in version 1.0 fixed in 1.1, hold down key to comfort ape.

Every one of my scared apes has been comforted and calmed with the B button. Are you sure it's scared and not sick? I had a sick ape who only responded to mushrooms.
