So sadly he's probably gone...
Nah, like Joker (the OP) speculated, I think he'll be like Kenny and not have actually died. Pics or it didn't happen, you know?
Interestingly, on my 3rd play-through, he didn't die crossing in front of that car, so I thought, "Cool! He's going to live this time!" But then he died a couple of minutes later after Javi broke the helicopter blade and Trip had no way to get across. (That unmovable car magically slid off the cliff allowing the herd of walkers through.)
None of your choices in Season 1 affected Kenny's fate, so they didn't have to kill him off to prevent your choices from making a difference.
Tripp on the other hand CAN die due to player choice earlier (the whole Joan choice thing), so at the very least even if he survived that incident he's pretty much 99% likely to die if he ever shows up again. Much like Carley/Doug will die no matter what due to the player having a say in their fate earier, same with Ben and a number of characters in Season 2 (their names escape me, they didn't really stand out).
His other possible death isn't exactly ambiguous either.
A bullet in the head doesn't need much confirmation.
Like hell it's not. They didn't show him getting bitten or anything. They just showed him going over the edge with a couple of walkers. He could've landed on them, cushioning his fall, and then got up and walked away for all we know. That's infinitely more feasible than Kenny "getting real lucky" and somehow escaping a herd of walkers surrounding him in that alley like he apparently did.
This really annoyed me. There was a dumptruck and fence, beyond which was a metro car. He had enough space and time to maneuver out of the way but he waits for the horde to reach him.
