Are the Telltale walking dead games considered canon to TWD universe?

I'm just curious about this, especially with Jesus appearing (and omg I was so happy to see him in this game!!!).Are these games considered canon to the TV series or the comics?

And no spoilers from Season 7 or later please. I am behind on TWD series, VERY far behind :(

I do believe they are. Glen was in the game and then went to Atlanta to find his friends where he later met Rick and the rest. Jesus is there because the 3rd game is set like 2 years after the most recent season of TWD

Actually jesus is there cuz its set BEFORE he went to the hilltop ..This season of the game is in the same universe of the comic not the tv show according to Robert Kirkman who helped Telltale devise the story.

The game with the TV Series has nothing to do.The game is canonical with a comic book.

A New Frontier occurs after the timeskip in the comics. They stated that the third season was pretty much around the same point in time as to when the comics take place as of December 2016 at least.

As a few people have already noted, the Telltale games are considered canon to the comics, but not the TV show.

Yes, it's canon to the comics since it's in the same universe but not the show. Even Robert Kirkman even aided in the production of the series.

There’s no way. If it was 2016, that means it’d be 13 years since Clementine was 8/9 years old. Meaning she’d be in her 20s, and she’s not.

Its almost as if I meant 2016 as in eight years ago. Considering the post itself is six years ago.
