Conrad & Tripp Bug [Spoilers]

[Harvey]

Like most people, I shot Conrad when he had a gun to Gabe's head. I told chose to tell Tripp that "Conrad lost it." and figured that was the end of it. Yet in Episode 4 when Gabe has his little tantrum, Tripp got angry and claimed that I let him "believe the walkers got Conrad". Is this a bug? And if so, how do I fix it?

Sadly no it isn't a bug, the writers appear to have dropped the ball on that one and it happens to everyone. No matter how honest you are with Tripp about Conrad he still acts like you've been lying to him.

It's one of several moments in this season that infuriated me.

I can't believe that. Why bother even including the option to tell Tripp the truth in the first place if they end up ignoring your decision anyway? It took me completely out of the game and broke my immersion.

[Vladislak]

I agree. It was stupid, I tried to play Javi as always being honest and they threw it in my face.

[Harvey]

I did the same thing. I'm cringing at the idea of playing more. Sidenote: I've spent the whole game defending Gabe and trying to build him up. Turns out he's an annoying little ♥♥♥♥ no matter what, Ben 2.0.

To be fair, Gabe is just a kid and in that scenario he was freaking out over the idea of being blamed for Javi's wound. He definitely did something stupid and I'm not defending that, but most teenagers make stupid decisions like that.

Personally, while Gabe is often a brat I give him the benefit of the doubt just because with a bit of guidance he could still grow up to be a good person. I just grit my teeth and tell myself he'll grow out of it if he lives long enough. :P

It's gone beyond being a brat. He's spinning a story to make us out to be a monster and ripping apart a stable group, just to satisy his prepubescent ego: "Conrad just wanted to negotiate, and you shot him because it was easier." or however he said it. You lying little idiot.

He had a gun to your head and held you hostage in an attempt to convince us to take CLEM hostage. While you were shouting "Javi this guy's crazy. Shoot him!" we actually TRIED reasoning with him. But Conrad wasn't gonna accept any other way but HIS way. And maybe Conrad forgot, but we weren't going to do to Clem what they did to Francine.

And after all that "We make a good team!" bull, what does Gabe do? Throw that crap in our face in front of everyone, throwing in every detail but the ones that actually MATTER. He has a "crush" on Clem, but conveniently forgets that Conrad wanted to hand her over to the same people that SHOT his sister. Just what the hell.

Well again, he was panicking and desperately trying to change the subject off of Javi's wound. I don't condone what he did, and I wanted to smack him, but I still think with guidance he could turn out okay eventually.
