This season flopped so hard.
You dont care about people in this season, I'm sure im not the only one. I didn't like any of the characters. I liked Kenny but guess what happens? they explain he died because of a car crash that was rushed. Ava was good too( kinda) but she also dies, it seems like this game was rushed.
I hope Telltale will go back to it's roots in the next season.
What do you guys think about it? I wrote it very quickly

its not as bad as ppl make it to be, but its definitely disappointing compared to season 1&2.. i'm very happy though to have bought and played it and i'm more than looking forward to season 4 and i REALLY hope we can play clementine again. it kinda seems like we will be able because of the ending in a new frontier.. don't ♥♥♥♥ this up telltale PLEASE !!
It's confirmed that you'll play as clementine in seaon 4.

I don't really have a problem with this season. I see it as a needed bridge from season 2 to 4. It had a lot of action to get things done quicker, and because of that, less story. But I hope that means season 4 can build off of all of it.

ANF's character's were about a 1000 times more likable than Season 2's characters. Don't get me wrong - I loved Season 2, mostly b/c we played Clem -- and her reunion with Kenny in that beautiful setting at the ski resort replete with Christmas tree was wonderful. Dealing with Carver reminded me so much of the TV show (the Governor) that any TWD fan would probably enjoy Season 2 based on story and scenery - aside from the weak, whiny characters. As for ANF, Javier was fantastic and I hope he will at least make a cameo in Season 4. Jesus was awesome (also needs to be in Season 4!) and Tripp was cool. And David, while mostly an ass, was the perfect character to help develop Javier through their interactions.

I will say I like the changes to the UI and afterwards. One of my bigger problems with Season one is it was a lot of mouse action. I remember dying several times to a few zombies and stuff just because my mouse would get out of the window, or something else. But Season 4 uses more WSAD stuff, along with Q and E.

I also like the new perspectives on a few of the characters. Instead of JUST listing off what you did with / to David, It rates your relationship altogether. My first playthrough, I got dysfunctional, while on my second I got Adverse. It's a cool concept to me.

What isn't cool is the ads butchering the ending. Both times I played it, clem would walk off, killing zombies, then it would cut to an ad about batman or the first season, then cut the music suddenly. A bit sloppy.

I got some big problems with this season (spoilers ahead):
1. Inconsistency of the plot: The only episode without problem for me is the first one. Seriously, all the other are bad at a point I can just ask myself if the devs wanted to make this plot voluntary inconsistent.
Conrad becomes angry at Javier even if we tried to make things peacefully and then just accept to give Clementine to Francine's murders, which lead to another stupidities, like:
-If you give Clementine to NF to be punished or whatever (she's your entrance ticket, remember?) then ... nothing happened to her. She's just banished (like all the people blamed for something Javier haven't even done. I mean, they ban Jesus for no reason at all). WHAT? So I could get back by re-capture her and re-give her to NF???
-If you didn't capture Clementine: you can tell Tripp and Eleanor you killed Conrad because he became mad (YES, you can do that), after, they will attack Javier and refuse to help him (not that matter, anyway) because they apparently just learned Javier killed Conrad because he became mad. W.T.F???
-If you didn't capture Clementine: no one seems to care about in the episode 4 when Joan become completly stupid (you know, when she shows to anyone how mad she is and no one really acts on it [except for Clinton]) instead of being realy intelligent (like she's SUPPOSED to be) and attack Javier for bringing back Clementine.

I mean, with 1 choice badly written, I can just dig out 5 anothers plot holes. Geez, guys, realy?

2. Too much characters: There's too much characters too long. In a world with litteraly DEAD RISING AND WALKING, we should have some guys dying, to show us how dangerous this world is. And it's a good way to create believable connections (for exemple, Larry ♥♥♥♥♥ on Lee because he's protecting his daughter) as much it's a good way to bring another characters in the front. But NOPE, not here. In the 1 season (and a little less in the season 2), it worked. In season 3, we got at least 6 characters who could potentially survive the apocalypse during 5 episodes (Javier, Kate, Gabe, Clementine, Eleanor and Conrad). 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ EPISODES! Which means 5 episodes in a world so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dangerous the guys we don't care will survive! Why don't we care? Because WE'RE DONE WITH:
-Kate's "I'M TELLING YOU I'M NOT A GOOD MOM BUT I'M A GOOD MOM".
-Gabe's "I WANT TO BE A MAN BUT I SUCK AT EVERYTHING WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO ACCEPT THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BLAMES I DESERVE".
-Eleanor's "I'M A GOOD LITTLE GIRL SO EVERYONE IS KIND AND WHAT I'M DOING IS GOOD".
-Conrad's "'I'M INCONSISTENT YOLOOOOOOOOOOOO."
-David's "I'M A ♥♥♥♥ AND A SOLDIER (EVEN IF I'M TRUELY BAD AT THIS) AND NOTHING ELSE, EVEN I SAID IT."
-Tripp's "I WANT TO LOVE ELEANOR BUT SHE DOESN'T FEEL THAT WAY, BOUH-OUH-OUH."

Yes, I know I reduce a lot their characters, but seriously, their attitudes plus the low dangers presented by the walkers AND the NF weaken severly my interest for them. Even the characters feel to not realy care that much for some others:
-Kate doesn't like David (for obvious reasons) but this guy doesn't notice it until the last episode (and he should be helped).
-Eleanor always blames Javier, even if you tried to save Tripp and didn't kill Conrad, when she betrays everyone else.
-Ava's death feels like "Nooooo, Ava's dead. ... Okay, time to move (whistles)"
-If Conrad dies during the second or the third occasion, no one care about.
-David doesn't care about Lingard's death and same thing the other way.

And so on, I didn't realy liked a lot of characters for thoses reasons.

3. Clementine'story too strained: The way her story goes during this season: nothing realy happens if you didn't side with her, she's just ... here and goes away in the very end when she knows where AJ is. Something she shoudn't care about if he was taken away for very stupid reasons (I mean, it's basically kidnapping a child plus mental torture an exiled mother). So, the very event leading her to be here and doing nothing is not even in the season 2 but in flash-backs badly put in the story.

To be more explicit, I find that Clementine's story has nothing to do with the Javier's one. The devs have said it shows Clementine a family surviving anything. That kind of sentence is so wrong at 2 levels:
1. In the season 2, if you didn't go with Kenny or Jane or gave up Kenny for Wellington, well... Clementine doesn't care that much for that idea. She's with AJ and no one else to really care about. So why create a new season just to show her something she doesn't need to?

2. It's the very season 3 which shows us Clementine need a true family by stupidly destroying Wellington (there's no way a so strong community could fall apart in just 1 scene), insultingly killing Kenny (I'm not the biggest fan of this character, but come on, his death was just and only dumb) and strangely ruined Jane's relationship with Clementine (in the season 2 she wasn't so ... unwiling to act. Okay, she's tired by the pregnancy, but at that extend? I thought the first once she's was half walker or truely ill). The first season lead logically to the second. Same characters (Clementine, Omid and Christa) and same morality (Clementine should survive but need help). The continuity between the second and third season is strangly delicate and not that interesting.

So yea, not a big fan of this season. Still recommand it, for the fourth and last season to come. Please don't screw this one Telltale.

oh WOW great. love to hear that this is confirmed.. now telltale has to be extra careful about not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up with a low production quality or whatever can happen.. season 2 was sooo incredible that season 4 will have to stand against season 2 and it will be hard to surpass this (in my personal opinion).

do you already know a timeframe when season 4 is supposed to be released ?

last ?? why last ? is it also confirmed that they are only doing one last season ? damn.. i hoped for more. i hoped for at least a fifth season that concludes clementines story once she is an adult, like 18, or 19 or 20 or whatever..

because it seems season 4 will be a direct followup to season 3, which basically means she will still be around 14/15 ?!?

The fourth season is being reffered to as the Final season. So there isn't going to be a fifth which features her as an adult. However Telltale have also stated Clementine's story concluding doesn't mean an end to future Walking Dead games.

We need a season where Clem dies. Nobody can last years

It can't be impossible for Clem to last a few more years. Nobody is ever completely safe, but some people are just lucky. As long as Clem doesn't take the route of Jane, her luck 'won't run out' for a while.

So,I play the new season today, I already played until episode 4, I guess *I don't mind with spoilers*. When Kate is going confess, I choose to 'alt+f4' the game :Doug: :steamfacepalm: I mean the fucc, kate ? I expected it coming tho :steamfacepalm: There's some dialogue that not exactly what I thought going to be :steamfacepalm: Yeah, I kinda little bit disappointed because this season is not like what I thought, I guess that's how things work tho. It's still nice game, because maybe you need it to play new season

This game was rushed unfortunately, yea. I think a lot of the issue could've been solved if Clementine was replaced with some other person, and this was a spinoff.

Well ♥♥♥♥, I didn't know that. Good thing you started your grand statement with "You" or else I might have gone right along believing that I actually enjoyed this game.

The characters were actually okay. I liked a good part of this game and I think this had a lot of potential. However, I don't know what happened, but the game feels so rushed! There were glitches and a lot of things happened that make no sense, especially in the final episode. You can't have a good game if you butcher the ending. The game was really short too.

The fact how S 1,2 was stunning, makes S3 look bad.
anaphylactic god Feb 1, 2018 @ 6:34pm
