DirectX - Unknown error 0x887A0004

When I try to start up Walking Dead: A New Frontier on Windows 7, I keep getting this error message:

I don't understand what's wrong. My computer should meet all the requirements to run the game.

for forks running windows 7 you must have internet explorer 11 or KB2670838 from beloew.

if it stall dos that errer massage it means your hardware is not Directx 3d 11.1 complent. so your best beat is to upgrude your hordware to lartest. if that avlsobaity exist in your hardware.

questen what is your graphics card. becpuse i can play this on intel hd graphics 4000 on max graphics about 22 fps. if you mind telling me if not that's ok. i don't want any argeement.

Sigh... I don't know what to do anymore.

I tried to check what 0x887A0004 means - apparently, it means there's a problem with device or driver. My graphics card, AMD Radeon 5700 HD Series, is no longer supported. Its driver downloads have been moved to "Legacy". Even so, it turned out that my graphics card was missing some updates, so I installed them. But it didn't fix my problem.

Everyone keeps saying that I need to install windows update KB2670838 in order to fix the problem but it doesn't work. I already have that update and the game still doesn't work. I tried uninstalling that update and then re-installing it, but still nothing.

I don't understand what's wrong. My computer meets the required specs and I can run other games just fine. But this game just won't work. I'm going to get a refund for this game and buy something else instead.

I used to have this problem but i cannot remember i had the exact same error code as yours.
I read posts on forum and found that you can download this window update from microsoft website to solve the problem. It worked on my computer.

This is only for window 7 and i am not sure about the rest window 8 / window 10 etc.
