Import save from S1/S2

I figured out what causes this *incomplete save* nonsense. And actually, it is not Telltale's fault. Steam cloud saving that's the problem. I checked just to see whether or not my save was actually incomplete (even though it clearly say that it is COMPLETE ingame). And noticed one thing about my choices in episode 5 of season II. Out 5 choices only 3 were present. I thought that was really strange so I checked s02 saves folder and it looked pretty normal, nothing unusual. Thankfully I remembered what I have saved my many games saves on my external HDD. So immediately noticed that saves on external HDD had more files than my present folder. So I immediately pasted all the files to the game folder of s02 and finally everything WORKED! Imported my save without any problems. So why steam cloud ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up so many users?! I don't know exactly why but I can explain it a bit. It is most likely affected those users who deleted s02 before or completely reinstalled windows or intstalled completely clean the new windows 10 (what's that I did). Like I and many other users knowing the soon release of a new season, installed s02 just to have your choices ready to import to s03. But little did we know that steam cloud system would f*ck us this way.

In short, incomplete save is not Telltale's fault but Steam's Cloud fault! If you never saved manually your saves then basically YOU ARE F*CKED. And nothing can be done in order to restore this full save through steam cloud.

Unfortunately, that seems the case. Either that or use recreational system. I simply can't imagine now how you can regain your complete save from the steam cloud at this point.Thankfully for myself before installing clean windows 10 I decided to store my save to external hdd.

if a save is "complete" by checking if all 5 choices are listed for each episode in Season Two's My Choices menu. To check this in your game, please launch your copy of Season Two. In the Main Menu, please select My Choices.

Do you see exactly 5 choices listed for each episode here? Or, are some of the 5 choices missing in certain episodes? If you see some choices missing here, unfortunately this indicates that some of your progress was lost or corrupted. As such, this save cannot be used.


Possible solutions around this are to Rewind to certain chapters and replay episodes to see if this makes missing choices appear. However, this is not a guarantee if there is partial corrupted data in your save. Instead, I recommend using our in-game Story Generator for A New Frontier to recreate your backstory. This will allow you to select some of your choices and playstyle to rebuild how you played Season Two.

However that only goes for people who got all the seasons through steam. I played 1 and 2 on my PS3 and on the TellTale website side, it say "incomplete save" even though I had finished the game. So... Im not so sure what to do about that.

Wow you possibly saved me here. Apparently sometimes on Chapter 5 it will not save the choice for the "Save Alvin Jr" option. So at the very end i only had 4 choices for Chapter 5. This could be the problem other people are facing with the Import.

i don't need help couse i remember my choises on s.1 and 2 ..i play just one time and i choose no the best way ,I made my choices by following my feelings with passion and immersing myself in the characters,so i don't import any save file... .... :D when i choose MAKE story i'm happy to know what decision have do it on s.1 and 2 :D ... ;)
always i say:
if you play game like this,don't think what a right choises you choose but,make the choices that your feelings tell you..and ♥♥♥♥ the :what happend if...
by doing so, the game let you a nice memories about the game....

The silly game fogot to record for me an answer in chapter 2 - so i have to play again most of it °-°
Its a shame the developer is not able to fix it after a year!
