The Walking Dead: A New Frontier

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier

Let's talk about Max [Episode 3 SPOILERS]
In the scene at the warehouse, I beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of Badger's skull then proceeded to execute Max. It was a choice made in the heat of the moment, and I defended my choice against Jesus. I later felt bad about it, but I don't think it was the wrong call.

Was Max a bad person? I don't think so. He tried to stop Badger from destroying Prescott, and he seemed genuinely upset upon learning his men killed Marianna. I really do think Max was a good person in a bad situation, but frankly I knew where his loyalties lay, and I couldn't risk him betraying me when we confronted Joan.

As for the kill Max ending, I was disappointed David lost his ♥♥♥♥ and started a firefight, but I later watched the spare Max ending, and it initially looks like I got the better ending. I'm excited to see where episode 4 takes us, and this might be the first TellTale game I replay because it's looking like choices are finally starting to matter.

I chose to keep Max alive. I will say I have no idea why. I was also in the heat of the moment, bashing in Badgers head, and was on a killing spree. But something made me keep Max alive. I don't know the ending that you recieved, but the ending I got was pretty upsetting for me. It just ended the way it did and it pissed me off. I'm starting to get ticked off with these episode lengths.
I'm guessing David shoots Lonnie in the kill Max ending.

And if you spare Max, Lonnie dies later on anyways by walkers or something/someone else.

As for Max in general, I think he's a good person. He just makes dumb mistakes.

I chose not to kill Max, because he did seem pretty disturbed by Badger's psychotic attitude. Then I got a real bad taste in my mouth for him all over again during the first interview with the leaders of TNF and he threw us under the bus, defending Badger (though I can see why he would do it; Badger's trouble is directly related to Max's actions, which would put him in a real pickle if he ratted out Badger).

But I let him live because he was a reluctant bad guy in the end, and I would rather have the hope that he was going to do right by us in confronting Joan, and the possibility of him not then just blow away any hope completely. Obviously my attempt at diplomacy failed but that's politics for you. I can rest my conscience when I go on a killing spree on the notion that I was the reasonable one and they were not.

Also, letting David, who is obviously hot-tempered as it is, kill Max in cold blood like that would not have helped him deal with his temper in the slightest.

I was struggling to make the choice on Max,
because when we first apporach them with David in warehouse,
Max tried to fake talk and pulled the gun.

I chose to let him live because I wanted to give him a chance.
why? because he seems scared that time? idk.
I kept him alive to help prove what Jone was doing. Without him it's just David's word.

My reason as well
Yeah, I thought for sure I'd ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up when I realized it'd just be he said/she said and that Lonnie's word carries more weight than David's. I really think David ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up when he pulled the gun on Joan, and we hear bullets fired. It'll be very interesting to see how episode 4 plays out with such a big difference in possible endings.
I kept Max alive because he's a man with sense even though he loses power easy. I hope he can be an ally.
I did nothing and my brother shot him. But it is treated like I said to kill him. I always get annoyed that when you do nothing it makes a choice for you and treats it as though you made that choice. I dunno I think in action should make for somewhat different chat options or out come. Like have it so I can have the lame coup out I didn't kill him my bro did it but then have him be pissed at me or something I dunno.
If Max didn't mention Joan's role in the raids, I would've dropped him. But when there's corruption at top, you'll need every single witness you can get.
The only reason I let Max live is to blow the whistle on Joan (take down a greater evil and all that). I'd actually planned to pop him after once it was feasible. Say all you like about being 'in a bad situation', he made his choice to support the actions that he knew were dead wrong. His choice, his consequence.

At least I'd make it quick for Max, seeing as how he did do as he said he would. I left Badger bleeding out with a gut shot for killing a little girl, after all. Max at least earned the kindness of a bullet to the brain.
I killed him because he is a dangerous ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And it felt good.
