She very well might be dead, but there's no ironclad evidence as of yet. Honestly, this was easily the most intense episode for me. I applaud them for actually doing dyanmic stuff. They made the conversation before you go to save David way more meaningful by having this happen, even if she actually lives and it just scares you.

Yeah we do not see a body, and the truck we steal is an armored car. It also appears fully intact after the explosion (doors still on) and we don't hear any screams of her burning or smoke coming from the cab of truck. If the fire stays on the outside, she may have a chance at surival ,thou it may be slim.

It depends on 1st off, whether the fire got inside the armored car's cab. If it remains outside, then the next question is how much the concussive force of the explosion, hurt Kate. Even if this is mild thou, she is still trapped in a armored car, surrounded by horde, and the fire surrounding armored car, could still be depleting oxygen and increasing heat within eventually dehydrating her.
