I'm a huge fan of Culdcept and I am happy to see this come to Steam. This game changes the art style completely but when you actually play the game its not as jarring it just feels like Culdcept and I can appreciate the effort they put into this new art style. Would a fully pixel based art style do better? Probably it would. But that doesn't mean the game isn't good.

The PC controls are great, unlike the previous PC culdcept game. The game is beautiful and its fun to play. The story is pretty cool too. 10/10

Why the hell doesn't this have Local Multiplayer? Completely nonsensical decision. I refuse to recommend this game to anyone until they add this feature

long time Culdcept player here. so far it seems to be, well... Culdcept. the obvious sticking points are a seeming lack of local multiplayer (which for some will be huge) and the art style which some probably won't like but personally it's quickly grown on me, as has the overall presentation. Have yet to get a sense for the quality of the AI opponents, which would be the other big factor for me, but for now on account of this being a new Culdcept, and on PC, I'm happy about it and hope for more to come.

For those who haven't played Culdcept, think of it as a deeper monopoly meets creature battling through cards. You build card books outside of the matches rather than deck building within them. There are a LOT of cards and opportunities for weird niche builds, so in theory you can spend a lot of time experimenting and perfecting your card books. If you're intrigued, definitely worth at least checking out the demo for a little taste.

Cornfolk out.
