OSX Requires elevated permissions for attaching debugger to a process
I just bought the game, however on starting the first thing I'm greeted with is "Developer Debug Tools" wanting root access to attach to an unspecified process.

Why are releases going out with process attached debuggers active?
Why does the game need root access to run?

If you're using the debugger to hunt live bugs - then the game isn't for me, and if its just an oversight - i.e. someone forgot to change the compile time flags when cutting a release - then it's also not for me.

Refund request and back to Rimworld :steamfacepalm:

I agree with this post. I saw the credentials prompt for "Developer Debug Tools" and canceled until the game quit. Good thing I tried it on a free weekend so I know not to get it.

Hi! This really shouldn't be happening in release builds - do you know exactly which build you have? If you go to the game's properties in Steam, to the 'Local Content' tab, you'll see at the bottom a "Current content ID" - what does that say?

We do require permission to be granted for one thing, to give us access to change the mouse cursor position, for a few gameplay reasons (to do with item placement), but that's all - not any debug tools.

I have the same, Current Content BuildID is 3637705

Are you guys software developers? Do you have e.g. Xcode installed?

I've looked into it and this is a long-standing issue, it's not new, but I'll bump it up our priority list!

Same issue. Weird thing is, I played yesterday, and this didn't pop up, but when I started the game today, I did get it.
There doesn't appear to be a 'Local Content' tab in properties, there's 'Local Files', but it doesn't show any 'Current content ID'. Only on the 'Updates' tab I can find an 'App ID' and 'Build ID', if that's what you're referring to, those are 535930 and 6876458.
I'm not a developer and I do not have XCode installed.

Also, when trying to quit the game with this message up, the game crashed: "Application Specific Information:
Crashing on exception: Views must return a valid layer from -makeBackingLayer.
abort() called"

I'm so sorry for taking so long to reply to this issue. I can confirm I'm a developer and had Xcode installed at the time of attempting to play this.
