Hi there,

We're aware of some issues affecting a portion of mac users. We recommend that if you're having problems on mac, you first of all try updating to the latest version of High Sierra.

Please make sure you check out the minimum specs on our store page. We're working on optimising even more, and have now added an experimental launch open which may help users on El Capitan (10.11) and Sierra (10.12)

If you are on Mac, you will notice when launching the game you will have a pop up where you can select 'Two Point Hospital' or 'Two Point Hospital (OpenGL;10.11, 10.12)

If you are having trouble launching the game (crashes or black screens) then select 'Two Point Hospital (OpenGL;10.11, 10.12)'

We are hoping that this will solve some of the issues - let us know! There may still be a delay for the game to start - 30 seconds or so on a black screen.

Some of you have noticed that you are unable to select the highest resolutions. This is because we unfortunately have had to disable Mac Retina Support, due to it often causing a boot to black screen. We are now investigating this and hope to be able to do an update soon with Retina support enabled.

Make sure that you have Two Point Hospital unchecked in "give these programs access to control your computer" list within Accessibility (in Settings). If it isn't unchecked than you may experience issues with the screen locking or closing.

Yo, I’m currently on OS Mojave with 8GB memory 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5 but the black screen issue on startup of the game is still occurring, just wondering if Mojave isn’t supported or something as I haven’t seen it mentioned here

I managed to get past the blackscreen but now it just shows the first "loading..." screen even though the sounds that are playing would indicate that something's happening in the game.Also it makes my mac chug real bad when I move the window away.

The second task is to place a reception desk, however when I click on the reception desk item it places it where my cursor hits that button. The game does not recognise I placed it and I can't move it. What do I do now?

I'm sure you've checked this already, but just to get started in solving this problem, can you check your Macbook's specs against the minimum requirements for Mac machines:

Minimum Requirements:

OS – macOS 10.13 High Sierra
CPU – 8th generation Intel Core i5 2.3GHz
RAM – 8Gb RAM
Hard Drive – At least 5Gb available space
Graphics – NVIDIA GTX 775M 2Gb, AMD Radeon 555 2Gb, Intel Iris Plus 655
Recommended Requirements:

We'd like to look into this issue, can you please send us your system info and if possible your game logs from just after this issue has occurred to [e-mail]? Details on how to get those are below:

"Mac System Report
To create a system report, open the Apple menu (button with apple icon in the top left of the screen) and click “About this Mac”.
Then click the “System Report...” button. A new window showing your Macs hardware info should appear.
Now click File -> Save and save your report. Please send us that file so we can tell exactly what hardware you have."

"Game Logs
To get the to the Two Point Hospital game logs, copy and paste this into the terminal and then press enter:
open ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.twopointstudios.twopointhospital/Logs/
This will open finder at the folder that contains the game log files.
Please send us the logs you can see in this folder. The file names will look similar to this:
tph-log-2018-10-31_11.45.20.txt

Since the game was updated recently, the game graphics on both the 'normal' version and the 'Open GL' version have small, horizontal black lines all over the screen - they move, flicker, get worse then better, and it never used to happen - I've been using the Open GL version since the game launched and this is a very recent issue.

Since today I get this error message (from the terminal, the one from steam was shorter):

Update: A reinstallation (as described in another post) worked.

Game would not launch after latest update. Uninstalled and reinstalled and it is very laggy now. Super disappointed, been playing for hours and now it's just not fun

My MAC is running Monterey 12.1 (which is up to date) and my Steam is up to date. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, restarted my computer, verified the game files, tried both options in the launch window, and it just won't open the game. It worked fine the last few days and then now nothing.

I have the same problem as the user Melonhead. MAC OS Monterey 12.1, macbook pro 2021, M1pro. After the last update (January 18), the game stopped working. When opening the game, a black screen opens, and the game closes. All updates are installed.

M1 Max Macbook Pro, game doesn't actually work no matter what option you choose. Clearly the devs are doing something screwed up on the Mac version to cause this many problems DO NOT BUY if you are on a Mac.

Hi, I just installed the game on my Macbook and the performance is very bad :
- I need to set the lower graphics preset to be able to play almost smoothly, and even then, I notice a small latency when I click on rooms or open menus, even when I move the camera (anything higher than the lowest preset and it's unplayable).
- Placing and rotating objects is also time consuming, I have to click multiple times to place any object or door, and the object I want to rotate by click'n'drag is doing everything but facing the direction I want. I guess it's also because of the latency/performance issue.
- My computer itself is in a lot of pain while running the game. I can't use any other application while it's running, everything is frozen and it takes forever to go back in game. Fans are also going crazy. The process is taking everything available until exhaustion.
- My saves don't synchronize anymore, the icon indicates that an error occurred, so basically I can't save my game at all

I have every expansion pack but no small dlc. Just bought the last expansion pack that's why I wanted to play.
I never installed the game on my mac before and always played on my good ol' Windows 7 PC.

My computer :
- Macbook Pro 16" (2019)
- macOS Monterey 12.3.1
- 2.6Ghz intel core i7
- 32 GB rams
- AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4GB
- Dell monitor plugged with USB-C
- Wired mouse (not using trackpad) and wireless keyboard (apple)

What i've tried so far :
- Starting a scenario from base game
- Restarting my computer
- Reinstalling the game
- Lowering video settings in game (positive effect)
- Lowering screen resolution in game (positive effect)
- Unplugging my second monitor

Any help would be much appreciated. It's so frustrating to be able to play the game amazingly on a 10 years old PC but not on my very expansive mac.
It might be because this computer wasn't made for gamers, I understand the graphic setup isn't the best one for games, but it's not like two point hospital is a AAA game...

Hi! I've got about 75 hours in this game with no issues, but I went to boot it up today and it insta-crashes regardless of which version I choose to play. I haven't played for a bit, so I'm not sure exactly when this started happening. I'm on a Mac G5 (2012) that's updated as far as it can go to Sierra (10.12.6). I know it's old but it had NO ISSUES for the 75 hours I played before this! Any help so I can get back to playing the game would be great! I wanted to get back into it before Two Point University comes out!

l have the same problem after I updated my mac to MacOS Sonoma 14.3 (23D56)
