- They have no restock cost but profit from vending machines is negligible for your hospital.
- It's true they are cheaper than special vending machines but still more expensive than the basic ones if you struggle with money.
- They have no "gimmicky" effect but have no extra positive effect either that some other machines have.
- The biggest issue in my opinion is that it takes time to replenish. It forces you to use more of them which requires more space or makes patients move far away to use them.
- They are "empty" when purchased contrary to other vending machines.
- Their main advantage is that they don't need a janitor. There are other ways to reduce janitors' workload though but I agree it can definitely help especially in missions with many disasters.
In my opinion the Luxury vending machines remain the best ones though, they take care of the thirst or hunger and increase happiness at the same time with no downside effect. They are more expensive but are definitely worth it and significantly help if you use increased prices for treatments for example (or if you just struggle keeping patients happy).
Also this machine makes them thirsty, so they go for coffee immediately and get them speed boost.
It's better to use the Energy Drinks machine instead of the Coffee Maker though if you want the speed boost since its the same effect but lasts 10 more seconds. The speed boost is cool but only marginally useful though because of the short duration. But if happiness/health isn't an issue at all it's definitely better than nothing. ^^
100% agree -- I only place Luxury machines in the hospital (and Energy machines in Staff rooms, when I use them). You do need to only use that type so that patients don't wander off for other machines, but the Happiness boost is the most beneficial to help ensure patients pay +100% treatment rates without any negative consequences.
Meaty snack machine do anything but give higher profit?
- Drinking Fountain (300$), unfortunately it reduces hygiene by around 4% but it's acceptable.
- Water Cooler (400$ from the Close Encounters DLC), it has no downside.
- Sweet Dispenser (300$), it sometimes lock the person using it in a slightly longer animation but it's not that bad.
