Are the servers and supercomputers worth it?

By the time I can afford stacking supercomputers by the amount that would make them substantially cut down on time I usally am making so much money that I am not usually running research projects anymore

I would say to always run a research project (usually kudos). As you are, persumably, still paying your researchers.

Grace, with your question, servers are useful when your researchers are low level and you want to quickly research stuff. Super computers are good late game but not as needed. However, they certainly help.

Just note though, they give off heat, so you might be spending maintainence and money on air con units (if you haven't got the new dlc that is)
