game closes on loading screen at start.

Having major issues I bought and downloaded game yesterday. I played game for 16 hours without an issue worked great. when I went to bed I exited out of game. Got up today and went to play it and It brings up loading screen and 3 seconds later it just closes out. I tried restarting steam, rebooting computer, made sure windows was completly up to date. I even tried uninstalling game and reinstalling. ive checked game integrity files. I thought maybe clearing cache might help but couldnt figure out how to do that. I disabled anti virus and firewall too. cant seem to get into the game. The most frustrating part is i played all day yesterday witrhout an issue and today it wont work. running windows 10 on a asus ROG laptop.

oh also I have one other game installed and it loads just fine its just two point hospital that doesnt.

Right click on it in your library then properties, verify your game files, if it doesnt work then delete local content and re download. Make sure if you have cloud saving enabled you wait until the game has saved to the cloud when you exit otherwise it can corrupt files.

I had this problem, it was fixed by deleting the settings files.

if by deleting local content you mean all the files in the game folder of the steamapps folder did that reinstalled no change I even uninstalled steam all together everything and reinstalled steam and the game and still does it. im at the point now where i want to just delete steam off and never buy another game from them ever. wasted my oney on a gaame that will never play again I got 16 hours which was a tease. I have better things to do then waste 12 hours trying to fix a problem that apparently has no solution to it.

Try launching in safe mode if it has that option.

Those aren't the files that I had to delete... the ones stopping me were in the unity3D config folder. I can tell you where it is on Linux, but not Windows if that's where you are...
I deleted the prefs and localpreferences files in:
.config/unity3d/Two Point Studios/Two Point Hospital/

I figured out what is doing it. I thing its very ironc everyone keeps saying make sure windows is fully updated when it turns out to be the windows update that is causing game to not load. It has been recreated. The solution that worked was to just do a system restore then I reinstalled game and it worked fine. I exited out of game after a couple days of play I just left game running the first night. then today went to get on it and did the same thing. So I checked and sure enough windows did an update and now I cant get into game anymore. the update that ran was 2018-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4462933)

looks like it may have also installed a security update for Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1: August 9, 2011 that looks like it may be the culprit. since I know the game uses visual c++

Quick question - do you have Citrix workspace installed?

no i do not I have heard that program conflicts with steam games. also the other game i have on steam works fine seems only two point hospital is affected.

also it seems only work around is to do system restore as you cant disable updates anymore. it also seems that once the update installs it requires a reboot to fully install update. But seems game is affected before the reboot happens. so just by uninstalling the update doesnt work. cause when you reboot update may not be installed but it is still present. system restore seems to be the only option ive found that works.

Sounds more like a firewall issue to me than a system issue.
