Have bench but don't sit, what to do?
I got 9 patient in hospital (and another 1 walking to reception). The hospital is so empty with lot's of bench available, but they don't sit what must I do?

Also is there a way to make my janitors go around watering more often? I got quite a few flowers in my hospital, but my janitors just walking around with message having too many janitors, but quite a few times already my flower water almost completely depleted and I have to manually order them to water them one by one. I try having 2 out of 3 of them purely set for watering plants only, but they still got nothing to to.
Sometimes at half water they already watering, while I saw quite a few times that even at 20% water they still don't care.

PS. if water reach 0% will the plants disappear, or do I have to replace it?

I guess you need to place the bench closer to the room?
And for janitor.
You can set some of them only to water plants, so they will do it as soon as one need water.

Npcs will only sit on benches that are to the wall of the building for some reason. And even then it must not be to far away.

As for janitor -- try to find a greenfinger one with stat. (and just place cactus everywhere as it lasts the longest)

!!!! Ahhh ok. Thank you very much.

I did try setting 2 of them only to water plants only, but they still refuse to work till plants almost die. Never thought of Greenfinger before guess have to look for one :D

So that's why bench didn't work. I saw they set up benches like this from the screenshot of the store page, so I set them same. Guess it is bugged when the benches are to far........

You can also just not use plants in almost all circumstances. All they do is add attractiveness, which all the posters, pictures, awards and so on do as well. You can pretty much make a hospital 100% attractive from wall to wall withoutout more than two or four yukka plants.

Its good idea to have them at entrance where people enter. Rest of areas not so much.

You can if you want to, but you can also just do something like this:

About half the rooms haven't been done yet, since I'm just setting that hospital up and haven't opened it yet, but the halls and tricky rooms are done with just 1 yukka plant, which is in the reception and if you wanted you could avoid with a larger room so decorations can go between the reception pods. The other rooms can be done just from wall decorations.

Obviously it doesn't matter much if you have a few cacti and yukkas knocking around (I'm sure 10 to 20 even doesn't really matter), but if you start having large numbers of rosebushes and plants it's going to be a lot of work maintaining them.

Patients rarely use chairs, some here say they have to be against the wall and at the room people are queueing for but I have that and yet they don't use them. This was never an issue with TH so I hope they fix it because its another annoyance on the sadly long list of them.

I think what happens is patients visit the toilets, look for entertainment and use vending machines so much they just never bother sitting down. :steammocking:

I would agree with that but you can still see some that don't go anywhere and just stand outside the room for ages. I haven't checked but they probably lose happiness from all the standing as well.

Oh! Thank you very much, never thought of posters, pictures, awards. Yukka, have not gotten yet, will go for it later :D
Fringehunter7719 Sep 6, 2018 @ 7:38am
Yukka, cactus, rosebush and sunflower are just variants of the plant which generate more or less attractiveness, in a larger or smaller area but need either more or less frequent water to do so. If you have a large room or reception where you really need something attractive in the middle of the floor to spruce it up then a cactus or yukka will often do the trick, and reduce the amount of watering needed.

As far as the not enough seating thing goes, I don't really know why that happens. I've basically been sticking to 4m wide corridors (equivalent to 2 room squares) with benches against the walls, frequently interspersed with telephones to relieve boredom and salty snack machine+energy drinks machine pairings to take care of food/drink needs and keep staff and patients moving quickly. Never had a problem with patients refusing to sit with corridors that width and benches against walls.

Hey, you don't need plants at all for your hospital to be green. Go to visualisation tab, pick the flower and start placing the 50$ certificates, to get them click on a room and then on the "items" tab on the right side of your screen. Fill up your hospital with paintings, rugs and certificates or even the other decorative items that don't require any watering.

I like the plants for my own pleasure, it looks nicer. I have similar issues with janitor, I wonder if it will work better if I set a janitor to only water plants.

@Fringehunter7719, how do I make the people flow better in 2 room wide area? I try earlier and what happen is people buying snack and drink take up quite a bit of time for each person, thus there is a few line up. This cause blocking of the corridor and both patients and doctors having difficulty passing through.

Also from my game, I notice that the patients don't want to go to new buildings. I set my first building for diagnosis only, and 2 other buildings set for curing. What happen is even if there are 6 or more patients waiting to get cured, only the 1st and 2nd patient go there to sit and wait. The rest of them just kept waiting in main building, causing lot's of problem to the flow of people.

@Mysticalmaid nope, it wouldn't work. As I said above, I get 2 janitors for purely watering. They just walk around looking for something to do, but not watering even at 20+%, so I have to manually order watering one by one.

I'd guess place more snack and drink machines. I've never had this happen, though, so I can't say for sure.

Any chance you can take a screenshot when it's happening (you can just hit F12 then upload it to steam when you close the game down if you're playing in steam)? That might give us a clue.
