Hospitals with multiple floors
It's so weird to have a hospital so spread out without any multi-leveled buildings. Will the game ever have the ability to make a high-rise Hospital with multiple floors?

Combining multiple levels with a top-down view is, to put it mildly, logistically challenging. Are there even any sim games out there that pull that off successfully?

Only tactical ones... no managers though. xxx

What about Project Hospital...you build, design and manage a Hospital over multiple floors and it uses an isometric 3D view. For managing the views, just add a button to switch floors up and down. (Obviously a lot more work to it than that though for everything else ). Also SimAirport now has more than one floor if you want it....though that is not 3D, more in the lines of Prison Architect.

I think that Two Point Hospital has no multi floors because it has been designed that way. Making use of the floor space to design your Hospital and get all the departments working to complete the level is part of the challenge. If you could just keep adding floors it would reduce the challenge maybe?

Realism doesn't seem like a high priority in the design of Two Point Hospital. Fun, funny and cute are... and to an extent also simplicity, in the sense that it has simple base dynamics generating complex and varied results.

Adding multiple floors to the hospital would make navigating the game more complex and would make it impossible to have a complete overview of the entire hospital in one screen.

Maybe it could be done and still be just as fun and easy, but it would definitely be a major redesign of the game levels, etc... which means doing so now would anger a lot of current players which like/are used to the current game. Best leave that to 3Doint Hospital or to some other Two Point X game.

Disclaimer: I would be furious! I love how it is now, save for some minor quirks! Maybe I'm biased... ;)

It could work if you press a button to view each floor separately and place ramps for easy AI path-finding between levels. It wouldn't really add any aesthetic value that way but the vertical space would cut down on sprawling hospitals where staff and patients have to waste too much time walking.

Wouldn’t they still need to walk from floor to floor? I feel like that would take longer, as the nearest staircase could be on the other side of the hospital, or if you need to walk down the stairs to go into another building...

Totally agree with Markhenderderson37 - limitation of resources in 2PH is deliberate to make scenarios a little more challenging. I can't see strong technical reasons why you couldn't have multi-floors with lifts between them (easier to animate) and just tab between floors, especially in Sandbox. I suspect people will be pausing a lot more to review each floor though.

This is the exact reason why I can't play this game. What freaking full size hospitalis only one floor? The sims is a perfect example of how to do multiple floors.
