From my game experience patients are willing to pay more for treatments if the rooms are of a high quality and the staff are pretty close to being fully trained in their field.

I have a few hospitals at +100% price & reputation and not a single patient refuses to pay but like you the helper still does pop up from time to time mentioning lowering the prices

patients tend to refuse payment if they are unhappy, make them happier during their stay and you can rip them off at +100% without anyone refusing to pay

on the other hand, the announcement is from an advisor, and it will never shut up about the prices, even when everyone is gladly paying... it will stop only when your price satisfaction goes back to 50% or more (which will only happen if you keep your prices below standard price for a long while (I suspect it gets to 50% when your discounts add up to the same amount of money you got with overcharging until now, but just a hunch, IDK the exact math)

fortunately price satisfaction and the advisor can be safely ignored if you keep people happy by other means, so happy overpricing!

If you set the advisor to only tell the highest level of notifications it seems to stop this, though I can't tell if it required a restart or just took awhile to go into effect, because when I did it initially it KEPT saying it, but I haven't seen it in the last couple days, and didn't lower cost. As Marlock said, this advisor is coming up because of one specific bar, not the overall rep. If the rest of it is doing well though, this one bar doesn't seem to matter at all. My patients love everything about my hosptial but the cost. But think about it, nobody LIKES paying more for ♥♥♥♥, they're just willing to if it has things they value more.

I keep getting, "Maybe you should lower. your prices" followed by "We're running out of money" announcements. I'm like, make up your mind!

So, what I do is jack the prices to 100% if I need cash. Then, when I'm able, I create a marketing room and do general marketing. That will bring the people in and up your hospital reputation even if the price reputation is in the (golden) toilet. Eventually, when you're able, you can bring the prices back down to 0% change and you're good to go.

I never changed the prices in my hospitals and i have all at 3 stars.

The golden toilet i really really really want it but i have to sign up and very very sick of crap emails and i really dont want more things like updates and stuff
Marlock Mar 30, 2019 @ 11:31am
spam-filters are for that!

sign-up and then block the emails if they really annoy you...

though I have to say they have been a lot more moderate with emails than I expected, so maybe you'll be surprised as well if you give them a chance

basically only 1 email announcement per big update and per dlc, IIRC less than 1 a month so far

Ok thanks

Like others have said - ignore the advisor, turn notifications off as much as you can.

In this regard, only pay attention when patients are routinely refusing to pay. I generally play the game with prices at a default 100% (it's already easy enough; Hard Mode plz) and you will still have the odd patient who refuses to pay.

Only take action when this turns from one random unhappy patient into a distinct trend. Never drop prices below 100%. And look out for problems like low hygiene patients, very unattractive areas, high boredom, and a concentration of staff with bad traits. You've made your patients angry somehow, and it's not necessarily the price.

It's because you have to subscribe to the newsletter (Hospital Pass) to get it.

A lot of people don't realize it but if you have a gmail account, it's easy to set up individual emails for this kind of thing then just send them straight to garbage if you don't want to see them. Gmail allows you to append the plus sign (+) and stuff after it to the user ID portion of your email address.

For example if my gmail address were cruinne@gmail.com (it's not, but if it were...) I could sign up with cruinne+twopoint@gmail.com. It would still get delivered to me, and if I were interested I could tell if they "sold it on" to anyone else, or I could also easily filter anything delivered to that address straight to the bin.

Nice to know, but isn't it a bit trivial (knowing that) to just auto-scrape everything between + and @ thus obtaining the normal email and covering one's track if it gets sold? Not that every service would, but the big and the malicious ones would...

I have a different experience.. I have all the rooms in my Flemington hospital at level 5 and all my staff fully trained but if I put the prices to 100% a lot of people will still refuse to pay. At hospital level 26 it's barely breaking even anymore since I can't raise prices and I get too many people which leads to inevitably rage quitting since there isn't enough space in the hospital to build more rooms

My hint from another thread (I've had your problem too, and though I talk about training, I've seen that even fully trained staff sometimes isn't enough to handle the huge inflow):

sometimes too many patients can cause you to loose money, because they can get all held in queues to the point of dying or rage-quitting before reaching treatment (which is where the real money is made)

this happened to me several times and necessarily manifests on late stages of a map, when there is no more advantages to rapid growth because there aren't as many sidequests to maintain an increased profit (especially after achieving the 3rd star)

the easy way to tell if that is your case is just looking for nearly-dead patients lingering on gp offices and diagnostics rooms, and for big-cue alerts (many receptions, gps and diag rooms with the red number of patients over them)

the cause is usually building too many 5-star rooms and thus causing a fast increase in reputation and attracting too big of a patients flow, in proportion to the training level of the current staff (especially diag staff)

for great flow efficiency you need to build slower and keep each room on lv3, cut back on corridor golden certificates a bit (i love using those instead of plants but they increase hospital rep a lot) and take more time to build up so when flow is big you already have lv5 gp office doctors that can cut the number of diagnostics each patient will need to go to before treatment

also to break that vicious cycle when it is already happening, i've had hospitals where i opened the list of all patients, ordered it by health and repeatedly sent home all red-coloured healthbar patients to keep queues below the alert level (meaning a new cleanup once every couple months) to keep money flowing in while tweaking the hospital (more this, less that) according to which rooms get more queue alerts and until staff was better trained
