So it's just Theme Hospital remake for millenials?
Nearly 20 years ago Bullfrog released Theme Hospital. It's probably better than this.

Goodbye originality in gaming as well as films.

Millenials(1981-2001) played Theme Hospital
theme hospital was good but my one gripe with it was when you forgot to fix one of your machines it would explode eventually and then the room would become unusable and un deletable which meant that eventually if you kept playing long enough you would end up with a hospital full of broken unusable rooms. hopefully this one fixes this. i dont see why this wont be better than theme hospital tbh. war for the overworld was better than dk 2 at least in terms of difficulty as dk 2 was way too easy

True, the correct term is post-millenials.

It's not what I'd call a remake either.
It's more like a sequel, rebuilt from the ground up.
The way I see it, is to take the very good recipe of that game, which has been sleeping for 20 years, refresh, improve, expand it. And if it's not something that appeals to you, actually… you're totally not the target, and shouldn't expect much from it.
Theme Hospital was one of my favourite games when I was a kid, and I actually was hoping a sequel for so long… and it's almost here ! That's awesome, I finished Theme Hospital many times, but it was short. And it's back, and apparently in a very good shape, so that's quite exciting if you like that kind of game :steamhappy:

I'd actually be quite excited for a new Theme Park too (I'm not talking about some free to play game, or an architecture simulator like Planet Coaster — which is probably very good, just a very different way to deal with that subject).
I played Theme Hospital also as a kid. This and Sim City 2000.
I am looking forward to this remake, especially since SEGA has its grip on it, and i hope there will be a rat-shooting-bonus-stage ;)

just hope EA doesnt sue you guys for ripping off Theme Hospital
they cant as long as its not called theme hospital. look at war for the overworld. it is basically exactly the same as dungeon keeper. this is one of ea's mistakes, buying intellectual property only to not do anything with it has led to many carbon copy's of old bullfrog games. ea loses in this situation
Guys did you see the last gameplay of they in youtube?

You'd think EA would simply buy out the competition then shut it down. I think its retro these days because a lot of time has passed. But if this generates interest and revenue, maybe EA might do a Theme Hospital 2

...and then abandon it and shut down the studio before its finished / released.
Generals 2, I'm looking at you :P oh and Simcity, I guess, but at least that released, barely, lol.
I agree. We should never play new games again. I will only play original games for now on. Better dust off the Atari because most of our games (yes even doom, duke nukem, C&C, etc.) came from games as early as what was on Atari (hell probably even earlier). In other words, there is nothing wrong with giving a once great game a modern spin. Planet Coaster is an amazing modern spin of great roller coaster tycoons in the past. I'm sure this will be great too.
Pfft, what a prick. We all played and loved Theme Hospital. i replayed it not too long ago. Buy you can't keep doing the same game over and over. .. it's time for a new/updated/sequel to get our teeth into. You're comment regarding films is stupid considering they've been remaking/rebooting since the 1930s. every generation want's they're classic. don't like it then don't watch / play / read / listen to it. Bugger off.

So, no more Strategy games / RPG / shooters or whatever, because they all have the same gameplay, either war / shooting / questing and leveling. etc... no originality indeed. :)
Hospital theme tycoon games are rare. They're so rare, in fact, that the best game to this day is Theme Hospital, a game from 1997. A game so great that it is still THE reference and about the only game people can mention if you ask for "hospital management game."

You need to open your eyes and realize that if this were ANY other kind of game, people would be fine with it. FPS, platform, sports or racing simulation...

It's not a remake, it's a game that does the same thing, only better. It is based on the same ideas, but benefits from 20 years of technical progress, and some new ideas. This is literally what 80% of video games are nowadays.

Yes, less originality in the video game and film industries, people don't want to take risks, that's a problem.

But that's no reason to point at this game in particular when the whole industry is like that. People don't want new, they want their old stuff, but better.
