I'd rather see a meaningful % bonus and a cap of 1 or 2 per room for items like the Medicine Cabinet, Certificates, Paintings and Book Cases.
Nothing uglier than a room full of bonus items all crammed in just to game the game to me.
Of course YMMV and likely will.
Cheers..!
Instead prestige could be tired to actual equipment. Now imagine if you gave GP's more useful equipment to make their diagonisis and they actually use it. Now would be presigeious ? and he can diagnose more patiens correctly.
Make certificates only offer prestige once per room. Increase the value of +% to diag/treat increasing items in rooms, but make them have diminishing returns until the 3rd or 4th don't offer anything.
In compensation, buff the value of each unique +prestige in a room should be increased a bit. As well as the room size value.
I jsut imagine all my Gold Awards are for "WORLDS BEST DAD" and "FIRST PLACE IN MARCHES PUTT-PUTT TOURNAMENT"
I can get a 3x4 room to lvl 5 with ouly about 4 of the gold certificates showing, but I have to put in 11 bookshelves/trophy shelves and hide the certificates behind them.
But I still woudl love less items, but cost more. Say a 60" tv or anothe upgraded heart monitor in the Dr's office.
You can get really smarta$$ and do things like a super high pristigue pic (but equally expensive cost) of a Dr on a fishing boat with a Marlin. Or somethign small like the keys to an expensive car.
Traditional "rich dr items" that cost super high K-points, but give the opportunity to use fewer items to get to lvl 5.
Take a look at the screen shots I took today. That is a 5 prestiage GP office. IMHO it looks alright.
The only items that I have more than one of are the gold star plaque, rug and medicine cabinet.
I do not recall exactly how many gold star plaques I have. I think about 3-4 are hidden behind stuff.
There are certain rooms with a limited number of items. In those they usuly get at least one of every other item. Except for plants. After that I add what ever amount of gold star plaques needed to get to level 4 or 5.
This argument is a slippery slope; are plants the way to go for hospital attractiveness since the other items are too expensive? Why aren't you guys complaining about spamming plants throughout the hospital?
Probably because you don't spam 10 plants all in a row next to eachother, they are spaced out, therefore don't look odd. On the subject though of plants, more variety would be better. Even if it was just different coloured roses, for example.
There are a huge variety of plants already, like cactus, yucca, roses. And actually yes if you want the maximum hospital attractiveness you would need to spam plants all in a row. A patient/employee only experiences attractiveness based on proximity to decorative objects. If you want them to get the maximum intensity of 100% attractiveness at all times when they're walking through the hospital, spacing plants will not get you there. You need to be basically within melee range or maybe 1 tile off of two plants to get to 100% attractiveness.
I still don't understand the original argument. Like I've pointed out, there are other useful objects that you can put in the room to increase prestige thus lowering the "required" density of gold certs, and also you're unlikely to see the gold certs on at least one wall due to the isometric view. If you're complaining about gold certs, then logically you'd have to be complaining about plant/poster spamming the hospital as well, why don't I see you guys moaning about that?
