My profit/loss is positive every month and yet I LOSE money!
Hmmm...that does sound odd. Could you post a screenshot of the overview?
Gross income is the income BEFORE all expenses are included or deducted.
The expenses the game stated as 5k probably were established regular expenses.
AFTER calculating what you also spend money on during that month (building, hiring, trainers, etc.) you apparently had a net income of - 21k.
If you open the finance tab you can check your gross income (green column) and the expected expenses (red column), the difference is the profit you can spend on building, hiring, training without calculations resulting in a negative net income at the end of the month.
How do you explain the fact that my profit was 13k and yet I lost 13k?
It could be an odd bug as well.
I had a positive balance of 120k but but at the end of the month to changed to -20k. I hadn't spent anything on building, hiring, or training and the income was ticking away nicely with bring in the positive cash flow.
However now another month on I am at -200k and probably with going to have to restart the level or my hospital will be shut down.
I am hoping it just a bug because this is getting on my nervous ad stopping me progressing to a star rating of three.
Because your income is spread out over the whole month, but your expenses are paid on a single day. You will always lose money on the last day of the month.
So if you have $26k income over 30 days, and then have a staff (plus electric) bill of $13k then you'd have to go a whole month without building, recruiting or otherwise spending to see a month on month increase in your current balance of the $13k.
You didn't.
