I am using a trackpad though.

Whenever I hold the down middle mouse button to pitch and rotate the camera, it will start zooming in or out all the time, very annoying.

Yes!!! Me too. It's driving me crazy. I don't have a trackpad, I have a Logitech G502.

One workaround without changing your mouse is to use Q and E instead. Takes some getting used to but it works.

do you have a controller (dongle) attached to your computer while playing the game? though its rare, some games are sensitive to twin input devices. try unplugging it and see if its fixed.

Are you people using a Logitech G502? Or another mouse that has a tilting scroll wheel?

TPH uses the tilt on the middle mouse button for zoom. Left for out, right for in. Chances are you aren't aware of this, and are tilting slightly as you click the wheel in.

I was having this issue until I realised what it was, it's easy to avoid if you know about it.

YES! That is the mouse I was initially using. I switched to another one that doesn't do that. Is there a way to change the settings on the G502?

Just open your Logitech Gaming Software and unassign the scroll left and scroll right.
