save corrupted for no reason?

for some reason, my save got corrupted? I didnt do anything to cause this, I didnt quit while saving or anything of sorts, either, anyone else?

Did you check out the stickied thread? There is a hotfix to address a save corruption error, though it wont bring back your save game. Read it learn how to apply it if you like.

You can retrieve a backup of your save game, though it will be of your previous save point

You can find your backup save within your saves folder:
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\Two Point Hospital\Cloud

The game uses"career.csav" as the main save file. The files "career.csav.*.bak" are the files stored as backup, to use one of them simply rename it in "career.csav".

So, in more detail, the file "career.csav.2.bak" is your most recent backup. delete (or move) your current "career.csav", which is corrupt, and rename "career.csav.2.bak" to "career.csav".

Changing previous saves didn't work, apparently all 5 saves were the exact same time. Completely defeats the point of a backup system... just what I needed on Day 1. Gotta redo the whole level again now.

got my game playable at least. pretty much upped the saves to 20 now.

for the record, the Mac equivalent save file location is at: /Users/[Username]/Library/Application Support/com.twopointstudios.twopointhospital/Cloud

Perhaps you had only saved once? I started using the quicksave feature every ~10 mins to make sure my backups are regular.

Can I somehow sync my progress on Mac with PC (and vice versa)

Not automatically, you would have to copy your "career.csav" save file back and forth from the above directory.

*edit: I dont use Steams cloud save system, but this game may support it. I haven't checked.
