Patients visits the GP between each step during their diagnos. Thus the longer time it takes to diagnos a patient the more build up you will have to your GPs.
So once you have gained a few hospital levels make sure you have trained Doctors and Nurses that perform diagnoses so patients gets the correct diagnos in fewer steps.
Note: Having correctly trained diagnostic Nurses and upgraded diagnostic tools are also important to keep down the GP queues.
2. If Patient gets <100% diagnosis, they proceed to secondary diagnosis.
3. After secondary diagnosis, Patient returns to step 1.
We have massive queues because so many Patients have to return to the GP multiple times.
Also I now have 3 psychiatric wards. They also had long lines before.
But in the old TH you had this loop :
GP => Diagnosis => Cure
or
GP => Extra Diagnosis => GP => Cure
Most patients wouldn't go back to the GP's office so frequently as they do in this game. Staff skill affects how much diagnosis you get done - also machine levels - so they might end up visiting the GP's office 3 to 5 times if you're unlucky before they can THEN be sent on for treatment. That's a lot.
Patients is nice, income is good. But that just seems like a totally unreasonable tide O_O. Like, you actually do would need 2 full expansion wings *just* for GP'S offices to handle things?!
