I would like to know that too?)
Why using a controller ? Well, when you play on your TV through Steam Link, for example. And if/when the game will be ported to consoles too.
So, anyway, if it's feasible, it's great.
And it's often the same guys which complains when a console exclusive doesn't support keyboard/mouse (let's be logic, if such games don't have to support controllers, console exclusives like Dark Souls 1 or Yakuza doesn't have to support keyboard/mouse).
I personally prefer to have as many inputs method as possible, to avoid any problems.
