I'm not aware of any mods that change the actual gameplay mechanics, or UI.

there is a Unity mod that helps make some researches recursive

I haven't tested it yet, so not sure how well it works, but will post the link as soon as I find it

Nice! Anyone tried this kind of mod on linux? Looks viable considering no hacked or extra binaries (exes or dlls), but I have zero experience applying Unity mods yet.

I just did out of curiosity, and it works quite nicely.

You do need to download Unity Mod Manager (linked in the install instructions for the mod) first and launch it via mono (protip: if you're using dark theme, you will probably want to temporarily switch back to the light one). You need to point it to your TPH folder, and use Install option to install the mod manager itself (this is the part that patches the bundled Unity engine so that loading mods is possible). Then you can install the mod (dragging the mod's ZIP seems to work just fine).

Once the game launches, the mod manager's window will pop up (you can bring it up later via Ctrl+F10). There, you can configure the mod (switch the repeat on or off).
