Pankapu is an example that comes to mind:

In any case there a lot of indie games with graphic style different from pixel-art. Bastion, Transistor, Braid, Limbo, Deadlight and others. Check them out if you want.
UPD: Im ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blind, the main character is a female wanderer. I got confused by game's description in russian language on the store page.
But if I had to choose I would say hand-drawn over pixel art.
Sundered, Jotun, Hollow Knight, CupHead are just gorgeous.
A few stand out. Gungeon/DeadCell/FTL are gorgeous to look at, I almost forgot they are pixel graphic.
Kingdoms New Lands very pixel, but surprisingly beautiful.
That said, if developer of those successful pixel games release a vector hand drawn graphic version. I will enjoy it more.
