finally a indie 2-D game that isn't pixel art.
I really appreciate that. I feel like there too much pixel style games in the indie market nowadays. whether , lot of games just use pixel art as excuse so they don't have to worry too much about the art style. the only game that I really liked that is pixel art is Axiom Verge. that's why I've been holding off buying Dead Cells, hand drawn art > pixel art !

Thanks, very appreciated. However, while I also prefer hand-drawn over pixel art, don't pass on Dead Cells for that, you'd be missing out on a very fun game!

There have been plenty of 2D indie games that don't use pixel-art.

Pankapu is an example that comes to mind:

You probably played too many of pixel-art games. Otherwise how could you get tired of pixel-art? Anyway, I wouldn't suggest missing Dead Cells. I, myself, planning to buy it, but I think now that I know that Sundered's main character is male, I'll go for Sundered first.
In any case there a lot of indie games with graphic style different from pixel-art. Bastion, Transistor, Braid, Limbo, Deadlight and others. Check them out if you want.

UPD: Im ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blind, the main character is a female wanderer. I got confused by game's description in russian language on the store page.

That one has good art, but story is terrible and gameplay rather meh if you ask me. Also, I'm surprised you didn't mention The Banner Saga even though you're using character art from it as your avatar.

like I said, I mainly hate games that are pixel art just for the sake of pixel art. it doesn't suit the art and style of the game at all. some pixel games would look so much better if they're handrawn, the pixels just makes the game look like a blurry mess . pixel games can look amazing, if done correctly, there aren't a lot of them

It depends. I think that Dead Cells, Hyper Light Drifter or Blasphemous are pretty beautiful (and very good).

But if I had to choose I would say hand-drawn over pixel art.
Sundered, Jotun, Hollow Knight, CupHead are just gorgeous.

Never pixel graphic fans...... but not all pixel art graphic ugly.
A few stand out. Gungeon/DeadCell/FTL are gorgeous to look at, I almost forgot they are pixel graphic.
Kingdoms New Lands very pixel, but surprisingly beautiful.

That said, if developer of those successful pixel games release a vector hand drawn graphic version. I will enjoy it more.

Dead Cells is so repetitive and boring and all about the looks that it isn't funny anymore. Really looking forward to Sundered even though I am quite concerned now, after seeing all the recommendations of the devs for Dead Cells haha
