Help with Embrace final boss

Beacon of Hope is a massive difficulty spike for me--not so much because the enemy is that powerful, but because it's dark, we look identical, and with the frenetic pace of combat I simply don't have any idea what's going on.

Help?

Shield piercer perk, finisher perks and gun perks are generally very useful vs Light Eshe. Make sure you obtained the Stinger special move from the first region once you have the grappling hook.

Thanks for the advice. Is there anything I can do about seeing what's going on in the first place? It's not that I'm not doing enough damage so much as not knowing what's going on half the time. Maybe you could add an icon over the player avatar's head, like you do for zoomed-out boss fights?

If you go in the options, you can enable that icon at all time.

I remember attacking from above off to one-side being relatively safe as well.

I've beaten it now. Honestly, the game could have gone like this:

Shining Trapezohedron: "Use the elder shards, Eshe. They will bring you power."
Eshe: "Do I want to resist the corruption or embrace it? The impossible decision torments me..."
Shining Trapezohedron: "By the way, here's what Azathoth's Breath does."
Eshe: "Where's my high priestess of Nyarlathotep outfit?"
