Finished everything (Guide)
I know i'm probably months behind on this since i'm pretty sure people already have finished the game, and to be honest, i don't even think the game needs a guide, it's pretty self-explanatory. Also, the devs do an amazing job helping new players, so my job is pretty much done already. This means i will not be saying "go left, get that, go right" etc. I'll go about it somewhat differently.

1. Trust the tip that suggests that you don't play this game in a linear fashion.

When you die it means you return to your sanctuary to spend the game's currency on upgrades. So if you want to explore a new area, awesome, go for it. Yeah, you might die, but it means nothing for the game's progress. Do not think you can break the game by going on your own way, or that a bug will occur. I've finished the game 3 times now, and i've only encountered ONE bug and that only happened ONE time and it wasn't even game-breaking. I just died and everything was fine.

2. Do not look online for walkthroughs.

Just play your first time to discover the game. Do whatever you want, especially if you have to make a choice, do what YOU want. I'm saying this because there is no "right" or "wrong" way to play this game. No matter what choices you make you can always max your char. If you finish your game without 100% , the game automatically saves before that so you can go back to it and take it to 100%. Only look for walkthroughs after you've finished it once.

3. Why is the map not working?

The map is working. It just doesn't record non-essential areas. That's because only the essential areas remain the same. All the other areas change. There's a tip in the game that says "the caverns change every time you die" and i think even the trapezohedron mentions that the first time you die ("this place has a life of its own" ? something like that). So yeah, you haven't done something wrong, that's what the game is like. However you get used to it really fast.

4. Performance is key.

And i mean the game has to run smoothly. If your machine has trouble with it, lower the graphics. When you reach a point that the game just runs seamlessly then you can play it. Otherwise you'll die all the time.

5. The second time you play the game.

You will just breeze through it. You will soon find out that the game runs really fast once you know exactly what you're doing.

6. Trust the tip that suggests that perks give more than they take away.

Yeah, all perks but 3 trade some stat for another. However the winner for the trade is always the player. For example the perk that gives mellee damage for max health is an insta lock.

7. Spend all your gold.

Ok so i said gold here, i'm pretty sure it's fragments or something, but anyway. Spend it all on upgrades. You can't do anything else with it, and you'll always come back with more, so there's no point in saving it either (apart from an achievement but you can get that when you're at 100% anyway)

8. No microtransactions!

Oh yes. This game doesn't feature any of that plague. So don't even worry about anything like that.

SPOILERS

Now, it's spoilers time. All spoilers will be blacked out. DON'T READ UNLESS YOU'VE FINISHED THE GAME AT LEAST TWICE ! Seriously you WILL be spoiled.

1. Easiest final boss is the neutral route's. Destroy 4 shards and corrupt 3 abilities and you're going to breeze through the final boss.

2. Hardest final boss is the full corruption route's.

3. Easiest to hardest routes is neutral, corruption, resist. Neutral is first because you can get mobility from corruption and extra damage from resist. Corruption is second for the extremely high mobility. Resist is third for the extremely low mobility. The laser clone robot mini-boss in the cathedral will give you an extremely hard time in full resist. Full resist route focuses on the use of hooks, which is a mechanic that is sadly not really fleshed out. However, it's fleshed out as much as it needs to be in order to win it. it's not impossible, just frustrating. I'm not a pro gamer and i managed it so why wouldn't you?

4. 100% progress comes from getting all perks and shards. 3 are hidden and there are plenty of guides about where they are. Also, one perk is hidden in the cathedral. All others can't really be counted as "hidden".

5. 500,000 achievement "speedrun" equip the perk that gives extra from corrupted traesures and the one that gives extra from lith. You also must have the scavenger upgrade that shows all treasures in the map. Then go to the cathedral, take the elevator, and go upwards. Every time you reach a level open the map and look to the left, when you see 3 treasures that's the level to stop at. Following that path all the way to the left you will encounter 3 more and a purple one. Do that and then return to the sanctuary. Next time do the same exact thing and you will find 3+3 treasures again, and a purple one below. This is the fastest way to get money.

6. I'll have to black out the entire thing now, read only if you've finished the game at least once. there's a hidden ability in the game although it's sadly not corruptable. In the first area, once you have the hook ability, you can go to that "ability locked" area to the bottom right.
This is a very hard area so you have to be fast. What you have to do is to go to its top right and there you will find some sort of weird structure. Killing that will grant you the rolling attack ability, which is VERY powerful.

Thanks for the guide, it features some good advice and new player would do well to read it and avoid some unneeded frustration/confusion at the beginning of the game.

The shards (gold) achievement do not require that you actually have 500k unspent shard, just that you gathered 500k in your play-through.

Thanks for approving ! I didn't really try to make a proper guide of sorts, but i wanted to make sure they know they won't break the game by just doing/exploring whatever they feel like. As for the 500k thanks for the clarification ! If i remember right i had maxed my entire tree and i still needed to grind the way i mention above. But i don't remember at which point i got it :s
