Why so mad about politics being injected into video game patch notes?
Seriously, the debate about politics being injected into video games is almost a decade old by now. Why is it people are freaking about a developer putting it in patch notes at this point? Is it because it is pushing a narrative they don't like or is just a continuation of the old argument we don't want politics pushed into our non-political games?

Also if the developer reads this: You have the skill to make a decent game and you might have a knack to make a decent one that would explorer your political thoughts and poke fun at those aspects that you think need prodding. There are various games out there that have political slants that do well. One only needs to look at the Metal Gear series or Grand Theft Auto being some of the most popular in that kind of aspect.

Because they don't agree with the politics. Oddly enough, they don't realize they are in lockstep with the establishment and acting on their behalf.

Even funnier is if a game touts leftist propaganda, it is immediately praised and any opinions criticizing it are immediately removed, and users banned. These people envision themselves as plucky rebels when they are just arms of the neoliberal establishment.

These peolpe unironically agree with corporate slogans.

Do as you're told, give up free will, DISPLAY OBEDIENCE!
People are starting to realise something is very wrong, we are just beginning to rattle the cage. These "useful idiots" have no soul, they are literally just robots walking around with programming.

Freedom will return some day.

Life Is Strange has entered the chat.

An absolutely awful game that is praised solely because of its woke leftist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
If the patch notes had said "womens' rights are human rights" the lot of you would be in tears right now. But going on a weird incel rant about sex and masks is based and redpilled right. Broadcasting your politics is only bad when the other side does it. Except that's hypocritical and you're all stupid. You can't have it both ways.

Well I don't agree with any politics, especially any that are irrelevant to the game's subject matter. But please do tell me; what exactly does wearing a mask in grocery stores have to do with Domina? I'm dying to know!

You're point out the obvious here, but thinking you're on the right side. Your side does it, constantly, across all of media, and gets mad when people don't want to be involved. You call everyone this or that for not taking your side.

Finally someone says something that you don't like, giving you a taste of your own medicine and you all go ape.

Also nobody would disagree with "womens rights are human rights" because women are human, but certainly whatever whack belief you have that you wrongly attribute as a "womans right" to hide it behind something people are hesistant to disagree with. You can't just put some evil nonsense belief of your behind the mask of "human rights" to protect it from criticism, so you can go and say "you're against human rights" when people do. Your mind games disgust me and I won't play.

Ask yourself the same thing when companies, games, movies, tv shows, resturants, celeberties and everything else you can think of is taking a stance on whatever is the "current thing" to grandstand about. Why am I seeing every game plaster the ukraine flag everywhere right now?

Oh, right, it's okay when you do it.

I've had to put up with half a dozen "We stand for Ukraine and Azov" posts in patch notes this week, the soy-lets can deal with a (correct) mask rejection message from one dev.

To paraphrase a comment I saw elsewhere: It's the pinnacle of virtue signalling.

Their lives have no meaning. They post "BLM" "Wear a mask!" "Get the jab!" "Stand for Ukraine and Azov Battalion!" and it does nothing to fill the hole in their souls. Instead of self-reflection, soul searching to find and obtain things that have actual meaning and satisfy the soul they double down on virtue signalling.

"I SUPPORT (THE THING)!"

No morals, no virtue, no ideals, no values, no thoughts or beliefs, they simply do as told and do it with such gusto that they will willingly give up freedoms and rights, and attack others with a maniac bloodlust for not following suit.

They are no better than slaves, and if we keep following them, that's what we will all become.

My most sincerest apologies for committing wrongthink, I'll stop having basic human empathy and instead start living life as a free and independent spirit who will never blindly support anything, and instead will commit myself to believing in what's right; like not wearing a mask because some schitzo told me to in their game's patch notes. God, it feels so liberating to live by my own ideals for once
My personal take is... I use video games as a form of escapism. Most of the time at least... it must be something really interesting for it not to be a turn-off. For example, I kinda agree with the politics presented in the story of Celeste, bur I still cringe about it being presented on the story. It is a turn-off, but I still love Celeste. I disagree with the political analogies presented in shadowrun games but despite that the story is so strong that it doesn't really matter. Or things like Fallout new vegas, where the conflict that is presented could be applied to many modern things but it actually becomes interesting, having the power to make a difference on your own... or to become the mastermind behind all the disaster.

But the devs adding politics to the changelogs in a way that doesn't add any value to the game... no, thanks. If it doesn't add any value to the game, the only thing that remains is whether I agree with it, and whether (in each case) I personally would be willing to support someone with such position. Asking everyone to do the same as I... that is going too far, though.

Basic critical thinking isn't a mind game...

Telling me murdering children is a "womans right" so telling you murder is bad is somehow "trying to take womens rights away" is a mind game, yes. Telling me that this isn't a mind game but "critical thinking" is more mind games. You know what you're doing, tool.
