Automatic Gladiator Training

Had a question, an honest one. If the doctore has the option to automatically train gladiators, and the player is going to enable that every time, what's the design premise behind that option? It seems kinda useless to me if the player is going to use it every time, and I don't see a point in having it at all. As always, an excellent game, though

You know, funny you mention this. The first time I played, I did not even see the option to turn this on. My second play through I had seen it and tried it and every time I played after that, it was the first thing I did when I started a new game.
