Do most people play directly / use mind control?

Was just curious if anyone else plays the game w/o controlling the gladiators manually? Seems most people enjoy that part of it a lot whereas I haven't really given it too much practice.

Does it sway the battles massively by playing with mind control vs AI handling all the fights?

I think it only gives you advantage in 1v1 battles and circus races. You can throw a sword using manual control which does huge damage, you can also dodge nets thrown at you. But in larger fight it's quite hard to keep pace. Also blood on the ground blends with circles around enemy figters and everthing is covered by dust. Circus is rather obvious - horses stuck at walls, collumns and other horses / carts, so manual control changes a lot. You can even go backwards and slay everyone passing near you if you feel to slow

Honestly, I don't know anyone that "enjoys" the mindcontrol perk (controlling them). Everyone I know just maxes AI controls on their glads and let them fight themselves. I've only researched mindcontrol once, and I found it rather unuseful, specailly because I dont usually bother with the Chariot races that ppakur is talking about in my normal 1 year games.

i never use the control, i like this as a simulation game.

I have never researched mind control. No interest in it at all, I train them to fight, I don't fight for them. Hell I get pretty annoyed with the new event where you get attacked and have to fight as yourself suddenly. That wasn't what i signed up for at all.

well, at least its dirt easy to win against those level 1 bimbos

I use mind control every now and then, funniest moment was winning against 9 other gladiators with 1 gladiator using mind control. I use mind control in hopeless battles when I do not want to lose a certain gladiator. Not for horse racing though, I just like to watch that.
