How do I disable the second controlled character
One of the new features of Guacamelee 2 is having a second character join you no matter what and they will mimic your every move. The problem is they can get hit very easily causing a combo to be broken and can be a serious liability during platforming. Does anyone know how to disable is so I only control Juan?

I haven't seen anything that forces a second character to join. Just guessing though that if it is mimicing your every move then for some reason your input method is sending commands to two characters at the same time, so when you join on your first character it believes your second character is joining also.

Pause, go to controls, and make sure that when you move your controller between characters, none of the other controllers are moving also at the same time. If they are, you just have to fix that issue.

As for getting a character to leave, there is a control for "bubble" triggering the bubble is basically the way a player enters the game drop in style, and they just have to move to the live players for those player to activate them. If they use the bubble command while they are already in a bubble, it is the way to quit the game.

On keyboard the default command is t. On controllers, it is holding the left and right bumber buttons at the same time.

Hi @Aero Dragon, sorry you're having trouble with this. To be clear, this second character joining is not the intended behavior.

Some players affected by this issue have reported being able to fix it by enabling "Xbox controller settings" in Steam's Big Picture Mode, under Settings > Controller Settings. Could you please try that and let me know if it makes a difference for you?

(If not, please email support@drinkboxstudios.com and we can try some additional troubleshooting steps).

Yeah, that did fix the bug thank you. I guess my one controller was being registered as both plater 1 and player 2. Maybe you should realease a news post informing others about this problematic bug and how to fix it

Bit late to the party, but I'm actually having the exact same issue with a DualShock 3 on a Mac, playing Guacamelee 1 Gold. Oddly enough, this setup was just fine for like 90% of the game, but now that I'm near the end, suddenly Steam thinks my controller is two controllers and the game is constantly throwing the second character.

Obviously I'd love to fix this problem on the Steam end, but in the meantime, it would be great to have some box in Guacamelee that's like "really, it's just me here, regardless of what you think is going on."
