How the story is connect to the first game ?
Hi guys, can I play Guacamelee 2 without playing the first and fully understand the story ?

You can, but you're better off playing the first one first. 2 is a direct sequel.

Yeah, it's better to play the first one first. Guacamelee 2 is harder anyway, so starting with the first one would let you master the moves a bit more.

It starts off with a summary of the end to the first game (so big spoiler right off the bat if you later intend to play the first game, which you should since it's quite good). To fully appreciate the 2nd games story you'd have to play the first game at least up to the final boss.

Aside from the intro sequence in this second game spoiling the end to the first game (afaik you can't skip it), the story in the 2nd game is self contained with references to the first game scattered about.
