Is it worth coming back to?
I last played the game wayyyyy back in 2022, the month of it's release. I had completed it, alongside the side content, on my crappy pc that couldn't even run Minecraft; that is to say I enjoyed it IMMENSELY. However, after beating it, I just felt drained. Ever since then, I just never came back to it; which brings me to my question, should I play it again? Are there any major improvements, if at all, that make it worth a second go around? Thanks in advance.

Lots of changes. Nights changed a lot and there is a DLC now. Also a lot of quality of life stuff. I'm biased, I have 650+ hours in this game, but if you haven't played it since release, I definitely say it's worth another go.

And as an edit... DL2, for me, is the most fun if you take your time. Just run around. Do a bunch of daily quests. Slide into a store during the daytime to test your gear and feel like a proper badass. The quests will be there. Just enjoy the world and tear through the city.

Exactly what I wanted to hear... After playing through Dead Island 2, I just felt obligated to give Dying Light 2 another shot, since it's been nearly 3 years since I've last played. Did they improve on things like the parkour? I remember it feeling a little floaty. Also, did they revamp or just straight up improve any specific systems? Just wanna know what's been changed, so I can appreciate it all the more.

Lots of changes. You really are better off just playing and seeing for yourself, but some major ones...

• Physical Parkour Setting: Makes the parkour less floaty, carry more momentum and gives you more air control (Similar to DL1). Find it in settings.

• Almost every weapon type in the game has new weapon animations to make the weapon types more unique.

• There are now knives, polearms, and guns. They also added Legendary and Exotic rarities, as well as a subrarity called "Nocturnal" that does more damage at night but uses immunity.

• New Game+: Self explanatory, you can replay the main story from right after the Hakon hospital quest whilst keeping all your items, skills and nightrunner tools.

• Howlers are far less common at night and no longer trigger chases and volatiles roam at night and cause the chases instead.

• You can now turn off certain bloom settings and there are video filters such as: Gritty (Makes the game look more like the E3 trailers), Darker Nights (Makes the night near pitch black), Sunset (Makes the game look similar to harran in DL1)

• A few cutscenes with hakon have been changed, like when he shows you villedor for the first time.

• Post Game Content: Legendary Encounters that appear after you finish the game that give you high tier weapons and loot. They also made the GRE anomalies repeatable for xp.

• More daily bounties (five sources in total) so you can still feel like you are doing something if you run out of quests. And since the variety is wide, it stays pretty fun.

Already installing the game after reading this, basically all of my complaints with the game have been resolved. I also heard that fixing weapons was implemented, so I'm going to be playing this like there's no tomorrow.
yes its fun

Forgot about that one. Yep, craft master's will repair your weapon forever, for a fee, of course 😉 But money is probably the easiest thing to get in DL2, so it's a laughable amount once you have put in a few hours.
I hope you like the frustration with the grappling hook via K&M control on PC, crappiest game mechanic I've ever used in a PC game.

Unless you were able to enjoy nothing but the parkour elements for hours on end, then no. Go back to the first game or wait until the Beast comes out.

2022 isn't even that far away, but yes, this game will suck forever.
The only things they have improved are surface level stuff, there's zero new content with no real ETA whether if or even when there will be new actual content (that isn't just grind fest garbage) added into the game. Everything they've added into the game since the first DLC which was just copied from the first game and is grinding too has been grind nonsense. So unless you just like playing through the incoherent story over and over again you're better off playing something else.
When I played dl2 a couple years back I felt like dl1 should have been the sequel: like dl2 felt like a rougher first game and dl1 was the polished, improved sequel. If it feels like the first one now (which I’ve seen opinions both ways) it would be swell. I wish I could remember all the stuff I disliked specifically other than “everything is at least a notch worse” so I could ask about specific improvements.
Edit I’m not asking for a list or anything- I was just kinda spitballing.

its fully polished now, its better game if you want slash zombies for fun. but if you want cutscene narrative experience, go play other games
The first game wasn’t quite Shakespeare, I’d be happy with more dl1- give me a fun open world, a deep upgrade tree, and lots of modifiable gear and I’m happy.
On paper I should have loved dl2 but it just felt like a AA company trying to make dl1 to me.
