"Pinned icon" in the quest list

Probably a stupid question but I can't understand. In the quest list, to track a quest I have to keep LMB clicked. If I only click on a quest, an icon like a pinned piece of paper appear. What's the meaning of that? Thanks.

it's to mark locations you want to go to so you could track them easier

Going off topic here but I really hate this hold key to activate thing that's been coming a common thing in games over the past years.

uh, it's like a waypoint

you mark a location on the map with it and then go where you marked it

literally every open world game has this, i dunno how else to explain it

Uh, so "pinning" the quest makes the map waypoint appear on that quest? I didn't realize! Thanks.

yah but you can also mark any area of the map with it and it will appear at the top of your hud

I know what it is its just I was replying to OP but thank you for explaining. Your post wasn't there when I made mine.
