True Friends (Spoilers) Yes, I am still annoyed by this Quest Edition
I really hate how poorly written this quest is and how much attention to detail they DIDN'T include in the quest and I just wanted to vent a little bit (more).

At the start of the quest Nerys is looking for her two little brats (Scottie and Moe) and demanding to speak with the manager. So like a brown-nosing employee Aiden throws himself on the altar and begs Nerys to let him help. "I'm a pilgrim" he says to which Nerys responds "YOU'RE lucky this is about MY kids or I'd want nothing to do with you!" at this point I was expecting a "well in that case... go ♥♥♥♥ yourself" but instead Aiden begs to help. WTF? Why not give the player a chance to tell her to shove it up her ass? WE'RE lucky she's letting us rescue her kids? LMAO. OKAY THEN. She tells us that the boys have been hanging with "this filthy little boy" whose name she doesn't even know; as if she's the Queen of England. Dominik's his name and he has a 4-legged best friend named Buddy. He tells us where we can find Scott and Moes dumbasses.

Then we find the area where they've gone missing. Here comes this healthy looking young man bursting through the front doors of the dark hollow and Aiden immediately recognizes that this is Scottie despite being given no prior knowledge of which one is Scottie and which is Moe but I can forgive this oversight. Following this we're directed to the top floor where we meet Moes ugly fat face hiding in a room with a UV light. He instructs us to go kill a bunch of infected or else he won't allow us the privilege of saving his fatass. Okay, fine. Then we find out he and Scottie were only there because they were trying to kill Buddy and eat him. Buddy is supposedly mortally wonded while trying to protect them from the infected.

All things combined, the player sees a healthy young man named scottie, a fat little POS named Moe, and they try to convince you that they have no food. Which is why they were hunting Buddy because as Moe puts it "we ain't got nothin". Meanwhile we've been getting sold on this whole "muh community" shenanigans about the Bazaar inhabitants caring for their own... are they really letting Nerys, Moe, and Scottie starve right under their nose? By all appearances and by Moes fat little face they don't appear to be starving in any way whatsoever. If appearances are anything to go on then all I see are two little baby-bandits that falsely befriended Dom so they could have some fun abusing his dog and trying to kill it but then got in over their heads. I really wanted to leave them there for dead and I would have too given the choice; which we should've been given. So now the player has to decide to "put the dog out of its misery" or "leave the dog be" and all that's presented to us is a healthy looking but whimpering dog. It really breaks the immersion entirely to see a healthy looking dog with no visible injury which is supposed to be dying but for all we know Buddy just has a stomach ache. Buddy (who is supposedly dying) will also lay there indefinitely until Aiden makes a choice. You can legit leave, come back, and Buddy will still be waiting there for you. Aiden also makes no effort to save the dog, he doesn't even give the dog a once over to determine if Buddy is really screwed or just rattled. Which he could have given the circumstance (not like he was racing Moes fatass back to the bazaar piggyback style) but instead we only have these two lame ass options to choose from. By my eyes I see a dog that'll be fine and we should leave him be because he'll likely spend a little time on the couch, recoup, and then go back to doing fun, dog-related-activities.

Finally, as if to really rub in the fact that the writers were just phoning it in; we get to choose whether we'll tell Dom these little brats were lying, let them confess they were lying, or cover their little asses. They actually get mad at you if you don't cover for them despite saving their lives. I really wanted to dropkick these kids off a ledge by the end of this quest.

Overall the writing was incredibly SUBPAR and there was absolutely ZERO attention to detail. I gotta admit it was the most disappointing, immersion breaking quest thus far.

I love the game and I'm having a blast playing but my God the writers must've been phoning it in far too often.

Well, I got credit for completing this quest but never actually did anything other than starting it. I came back to the game after a break and it showed as completed. So yeah its perhaps a little buggy as well.
