Location of Dying Light 2

I have determined that the game takes place either in Germany, or a surrounding country which include the following: Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, Czech republic, Austria etc

one of the achievements is called "Herzlich Wilkommen!" which is a warm welcome in german. - based on google translate, and you can find recipes for Polish dishes around the city. so Im 99% positive we are within this region, we just dont know an exact country yet.

Post your evidence and ideas down below. all we know factually is that we are in Europe and that we are West of turkey. I think my evidence proves we are in one of the stated countries. which also follow those facts.

perhaps. just feels odd then since we are clearly stated in DL1 that Harran takes place in Turkey. specifically. and many know about Harran in DL2 so its odd that it would be so far away. you'd think it would be closer to Harran.

Are you trolling? 2000km is the length of ex Jugoslavia, from Germany to Turkey border its like 3700km++

I never said he came directly from turkey lmao nor did I say we are directly in germany. I just think its suspicious that the region of the 1st game and the general area of the 2nd game is close to the same distance as Aiden travelled ;)

The "Fall" happened some 7 years after Harran, and people managed to live more or less normally during that time, with internet. Of course they'd know about it, no need to calculate routes from Harran to anywhere.
I do like your enthusiasm, but I'm pretty sure that line "over 2000 kilometres from Crossdale" or whatever it was called, is just a throwaway and is only meant to highlight Aiden's abilities and survival skills.
Now if anything it probably would be a former central European country, like Germany, Czech republic, or Poland, because it's a mixture of CE cultures, and because Techland, but distance from Harran doesn't mean anything.

On the map, near the observatory marker (or maybe the observatory marker itself, too lazy to open up the game and verify) there is a little description that mentions the old name of Villedor, which is something like Gresburg or the like, I'm writing this from memory. This would hint towards Germany. The very name Villedor is french however, meaning Golden City. I believe there's also the name of a river Turzawa in the same marker as the observatory.
Marseille is also mentionned, same as the British Isle, which is described as completely devoided of human settlement if I remember correctly.
In my mind, this game takes place in Germany, maybe near the Rhine.

Don't quote me on any of this, I'm too lazy to fact-check.

The castle on top of the mountainside looks very close to the one in KCD which is based on Rattay of Bohemia (Or the Czech Republic today).
