It doesn't look like Israel because it's not Israel and isn't supposed to look like it.

Dying Light 2 map design in Europe you can see the building roof, not same like Middle East theme.

I personally think it's Western Europe because of the information you find in-game, more specifically I think it's either in France very close to Belgium and the Netherlands, or it's in Belgium or the Netherlands.

Countries sell their toys to others all the time.

It's not set anywhere. It's a fictional city based on many places (and heavily copy pasted).
Tanks may be israeli, but the map in the intro points at Poland (likely Wrocław or Kraków), character* names seems (I may be wrong) to be turkish

Ah, so the entire point of this thread is OP bragging about his tank knowledge.

The model of tanks is not indicative about anything other than what 3D artist thought was cool when searching for reference photos online, or maybe what was on sale at some 3D online asset store at the time.

Funnily enough for DL1, Harran is a tiny Norwegian village in the middle of nowhere:
Harran[en.wikipedia.org]
Map[www.google.com]

A bit like the countryside part we saw in the Following :D

well, oficial wiki mention (in Trivia section)
https://dyinglight.fandom.com/wiki/Harran
that there is Harran city in Turkey. also wikipedia mention that Harran was inspired by Istambul and Mumbai

Also when for some reason Villedor (DL2 city) is CLEARLY in "Continental Europe",and not in Israel -it still keep all those strange containers, fitting more to islamic culture, at least we dont eat halva anymore (btw i love halva IRL)

Continental Europe -cos it is literally mentioned that they know situation both in England, AND they sort of came from "New Paris"
here is interesting text about City possible location (most likely in Hungary/Romania/Austria)

Why do you think it's set in israel?

It's clearly set in Europe ;-)

Sure, I just thought it was some fun trivia :)

I'm hoping DL2 expansion will cover the countryside - even zombies have to get away from the city once in a while :-))
