it's 42gb, not exactly "small"

probably gonna be much bigger when post launch content is out

maybe you're used to cod games that take up 200gbs and 150gb of that are skins

Different games have different requirements, generally though the better the graphics the more space is required.

Are you retarded?

GTA 5 have 100GB
lolic_lol Feb 13, 2022 @ 7:22pm
At the moment there is not a lot of content in the game.

Techland is one of the rare companies today that gives a single damn about optimizing file size, that's why.

42GB is not a small game by any metric.

Maybe they're just good at compressing files.

Really hate the trend where people prefer their game installs to be massive in order to assume there's more "content" in the game.

They re-use a lot of assets that's why.
It's not so much that it becomes completely bland but enough to save a LOT of disk space.

Re skined interiors everywhere, and anyone noticed the size of the map is actually a lot smaller then it looks? I can run from one side to the other in 5 mins

lol no u can make minecraft look better than cod and its only like 2 MB big. COD just does a terrible job at compressing their files to make them smaller IF they even do that. I like cod but there is no reason for their games to be over 100+ gigs. DL2 looks far better even though its half the size of any cod game.

Yup, and it's too big at the same time for what it actually is. You tend to see the same rooftops and the same parkour routes too often. Should've cut down and tightened their focus more, get rid of a few systems.

And how many extra GB's would the better looking than COD add? And would everything else be to the same standards?

I never said COD didn't do a terrible job at compressing. Also a lot of things in DL2 are literally copy and paste so that saves a whole lot of space.
