Can zombies see the flashlight?

Can they?
I noticed that they aren't phased by it. If they aren't... why not auto-enabling it at night?
Also many cut-scenes turn it off and it's annoying to turn it back on constantly.

Only humans(bandits) can see it. Zombies doesn't.

The zombies inside buildings seem to be alerted by it. I can sneak past them better when my flashlight is turned off, especially the agitated ones that move around. In one instance I was a fair distance from one, turned my flashlight on and it went berserk. D: I only turn it on briefly to see where I'm going and then turn it off again when inside buildings now.

They do, though it subtle than human and really doesn't matter most of the time unless you try to sneak past them in dark zones
Specials will slowly accumulated alert rate if you're not too close to trigger them fully, I think biters sometimes try to investigate the light source too (sometimes)

Virals do see them. Was sneaking on behind one with a flashlight and looked back at me

Why would you even sneak tho. Just storm dark zones during night with rambo style and call it an Easy loot

I think biters (Sleeping and walking when alerted) Don't but virals (walking and running when alerted) are just like human.

It seems like virals would notice sometimes but humans def notice which is why you can turn it off or on

they do notice the light/ are alerted by it, it shouldnt be an issue outside, always keep the light on, since you will be just running around, in insides is another story, they do get alerted by the light
