Climbing up and down the ropes and grappling hook - IT WORKS! well...only with gamepad?

I saw youtube vid of someone playing on a console, where i noticed for a few seconds that the dude was actually climbing his grappling hook. Had to replay it a few times to see if i wasn't just seeing what i wanted to see... Then i checked on web, where it says to climb a rope, you have to hold interactive button (Square on PS. x on Xbox, F on PC) with up or down keys to start climbing. Anyways, tried it with keyboard/mouse to no avail.
But then i thought after all the keybinding fest this game has it might actually work with a gamepad (my old Logitech F710). And EUREKA, it does!!! WE CAN CLIMB ROPES AND GRAPPLING HOOK!
-Now we just need to figure out which buttons we need to press in order to do it with a keyboard, because F with up/down keys doesn't seem to work. I feel like i tried most of logical combinations, feeling like a Mozart on my keyboard already, but i know the Steam community can do it! :D

I have no problems to climb up with the grapple except you must upgrade it to do it (I play on DS4)

Literally just keep pressing alt.

I've been using it to scale any building I want.

Yeah, guys, i am not talking about that cheesing with grapple to climb a building upwards. I am talking about a control that actually let you upscale or downscale your own rope or any other rope in the world for that matter. If you say you can do it with a kb/m - how do you do it? When i press F and up/down, i just start swinging. BUT it works with my gamepad , when i press 'use' button with up/down. I start climbing/descending on my own rope.

Bro please. I have been trying to hitting AltF4 multiple times already and my character still doesn't climb.

So...you're saying it works on your part the way it says it should work... That's awesome! I was wishing for it to be possible for the whole gameplay of mine. I just don't get it, what is wrong on my side - i have the default keymaping in-game, in particular i haven't messed even a little bit with F or WSAD, which are used in this little maneuver here. What am i missing?
