Edit: even more basic question: does he have it unlocked in his own game?
No, we have been playing co-op right after we finished the prologue. However, I upgraded it some more and he got the same abilities as me (when i upgraded my parachute) so it looks like it takes the hosts' upgrades.
why the everliving FK doesnt this game work like every other coop game ive ever played and just have both players' saves sync as you go?!? the whole issues stems from the insane decision to make it so that only the hosts progresses in quests as you play. the fact when my friend who is hosting our run together leaves and im suddenly back at the first quest again is frankly asinine and makes ZERO sense! i love the game, dont get me wrong, i played it solo when it came out and then wanted to play it again with my buddy, but come on... its nice they allow for coop but it is EXTREMELY poorly handled in both this game and the first...
It's so you can't just hop into another player's game and drop back into your own with every map marker unlocked, quest cleared, and survivor gear fully upgraded...
