Unplayable Due to Constant Crashes – No Fix in Sight
I was really looking forward to replaying Dying Light2 on my new high-end system, but after hours of troubleshooting, I’m beyond frustrated. Despite running an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, ASUS TUF RTX 5080, and 64GB DDR5 RAM, the game is completely unplayable due to constant crashes every 10 minutes.

I’ve tried everything—Ultra, Medium, and even Low settings, turning off Ray Tracing, tweaking DLSS, reinstalling drivers, verifying files, disabling overlays, and even a full reinstall. Nothing works. And before anyone suggests "check your system," every other demanding game runs flawlessly.

This is clearly not a hardware issue but a game issue. If a rig like mine can’t handle this game without constant crashes, what hope is there for others? Looking at discussions, I see countless players reporting the same issue, yet no proper fix or response from the developers.

Until a proper patch is released, I cannot recommend this to anyone. Absolute disappointment.

It most likely is an issue with your new hardware, it's very common for ddr5 motherboards to be unstable depending on the clocks you are running, you might want to consider running stock clocks for testing and if that isn't enough you might need to undervolt your cpu and memory until games stop crashing.

Everything is currently running at stock settings, but I'm still experiencing the same issue. I'll try undervolting as you suggested to see if it makes a difference in stability. Thanks for the suggestion

I've heard that the newest Nvidia drivers are causing a bunch of issues for everyone, so I'd try installing an older driver and seeing if that works.
Im running ddr5 don't have issues. Could be overheating on those parts. This game runs hot...

Actually i got liquid coolment so when in the middle of the fight both GPU and CPU is around 55C never above 60C. So heating is also out of the equation

Could also be a driver issue with the 50 series since its so new, maybe wait for a few updates.

Hopefully it isn't something more serious that would require replacing hardware.

*Sigh*. Terminology, people. What you have is a compatibility issue between your rig and the game. The game is fine, your rig is fine. It is not a game issue, it is not a computer issue. The issue is that the game and the computer ain't talking to each other very well. I've watched people play this on ultra with your graphics card, so it's completely possible to run.

Most likely, it's a driver issue. Test fully updated ones, then roll back since your graphics card is pretty new. See if an older driver is all right.

Make sure the game has been added to the Nvidia panel and runs through there. Also, make sure the game is installed on a fixed harddisk. It doesn't like running from external harddrives. C drive is always best.

If you have any mods installed, remove them to test. Soooooo often, these issues are due to mods. Also remove any custom maps you may have installed.

Again, this is a compatibility issue and Techland can't patch those out. If there is something wrong with the game that everyone experiences or can experience, sure. This is not one of those. The game is a constant and it runs for others, so the issue is with your rig. And it can be anything, from drivers to your antivirus software to the install location to permissions, etc.

What does the logs for the game say? Might provide some insight....

Did you update your bios? I heard something about intel bios doing this... also xmp might be playing a factor here if that is on try it without and see what happens
5080 user here as well and I'm having the same issue. Only solution which helped me fix this was to disable frame generation - which is not ideal. But I assume this is a 50xx series thing and needs to be patched either by the devs or Nvidia.

5080 here having the same issues as well, Can't get past the tutorial. I'll try to disable the framegen as the user above suggest.

EDIT: Yep, framegen caused crash for me, Luckily i dont need it,

I was wondering if I would find people here experiencing the same issue.
5080 as well and its also crashing, its definitely frame gen. I turned frame gen off with DLSS 3 enabled on quality mode and everything maxed out I am hitting my framerate cap for my monitor (165) at 1440p. Frame gen was probably not needed anyway.

how are you getting 165 fps at 1440p with raytracing? on ultra settings with raytracing at 1440p and using dlss qaulity i get 120 fps...

I can confirm framegen is the issue on 5080 for crash on my side.
