Hows the co-op now?

so i just bought the game and a friend of mine is also thinking of getting it hows the co-op now and the co-op stroy progression? heard theres a lot of issues regarding co-op especially things like story quests only progressing for the host. Has that been fixed now and do both people now progress their story when playing together? asking cause i cant really find any infos regarding that if its any different now or not

Only host can complete story missions in coop, second player can play those with you, but dont get progression (some missions requires one and only one player)
