Volatile's and Survivor sense's aka Detective sense
I really like how in the beginning of the game, where you have to find birdie, but there's a blood trail leading to where he's at, but with the invitation of Volatile's roaming the streets, it's nearly impossible to do the Detective sense correctly, without having to use a safe zone just to get to birdie, and in that way you're ruining the experience of being the Detective, following the foot prints...

Volatile's LITERALLY ruin how this game operates sometimes. The way the game was meant to be, totally not there because of nostalgic players wanting nights to be harder, well, you got it, and now some quests are a pain in the ass to do!

I know this is a very old thing to bring up again, but imo the game got butchered very hard because of Dying light 1 players feeling the need to cry to Techland, and Techland feeling like they should just let the community make their game... Why not? Just hand the requirements over to us, let us do your job for you.

Part of me really likes that some companies DO listen and give the player what they want, but when a company literally lets the community make their game for em, it's not the companies game anymore, some company's I'm glad don't listen. Excluding Activision.

So again, Volatile's are a ♥♥♥♥♥!

Just do the mission during the day 😅 Or run inside the shop during the night, wait for day, and then go outside if you realy don't want to see a single Volatile. If you can't make it to the hide-out at a run, there are simple ways around it.

The game tells you to do it at night, because Volatile's aren't in the buildings during the night, only outside, and Volatile's are inside during the day.... I'm not trying to fight Volatile's inside a small damn building, y'all got me F'ked up if that's the case!

As such, I repeat...go inside the store at night, wait until day to leave it, and do the outside portion. There are easy ways around this issue, if you don't feel comfortable doing it around Volatiles.

I do understand where you're coming from, and Dying Light 1 did Volatile's correctly, yes I was still afraid of them, didn't want to leave the safe zone, I was genuinely scared... BUT, Techland really F'KED IT UP! With Dying Light 2, and they INCORRECTLY introduced them, causing the same to fall at MANY points!

I'm not actually mad with the caps, but I'm trying to get a point across, Techland screwed up Volatile's! I didn't mind them in 1. The game, Dying Light 2, was NOT supposed to have Volatile's at night, and yeah the night was boring, but damn! They dropped the ball!

Idek. They are much easier to kill in DL2. With throwing blades, you can kill them in two hits by level three or so. I two-shot them with knuckle dusters now, so I just plough through level 4 chase waves like I'm Wolverine. I'm not saying they are perfectly balanced or anything. They are a nuisance with their endless spawning, for sure, and unlike DL1, you can't sneak past them. And at lower levels, you have to be mindful of them. But except for forced story moments like running to the hospital at the start, you don't have to do a single quest at night. So, once you have your throwing knives upgraded, you do it the nice and cowardly way and throw knives through the store opening until everything is dead, slip in, go through the motions, and follow the tracks. Not a single night moment and never any danger. DL2 is much more gamified, meaning it's easy to break if you don't feel confident. Use the game mechanics against it. It works for me, not for other people, and that is completely valid.
I just feel that Volatile's shouldn't of been added, and it's even more annoying with GRE anomalies, Techland doesn't give two ♥♥♥♥♥, it shows. I could careless about their Dying to know videos. We all know, except the ass kissers, we all know they shat a steamy load on this game. I enjoyed the game when it was first released, some updates are just not meant to be.

*Shrug* Enjoy your opinion (and maybe another game?). I'm 665 hours in on this game and still play it almost daily, at least for a while. I see all the flaws, I just think it bothers me less than it does you because I enjoy the rest enough.

I have over 1k in this game, which in my opinion, hours mean nothing cause you could know a lot and still dislike the game, or have a ton of hours and know a lot and enjoy it. But whatever, I just feel like Techland really ♥♥♥♥ the bed with this one. I don't have high hopes for the beast, it's Techland, they partnered up with Tencent, they fell.
